if both teams look like horsefeathers and suffer a bunch of injuries and the packers lose, then this is the best outcome for us

so far so good

Love is no Caleb.  Doesn't have it in cruch time.

I bet the Packers tonight,  so happy to lose the bet. The Flower is no Ben Johnson either

Don’t you mean tied for first?

I believe he is referencing the fact that currently Detroit holds the tie breaker due to the Bears week 2 loss. Of course that will work itself out week 18 when the Bears beat the Lions. However it won't matter anyway since obviously Chicago will be 14-3 then. 🤥

OZ - Olamide Zaccheus, who I have to imagine was getting the number of reps he was because he’s a vet, likely could get the scheme down, and is a willing blocker

Unfortunately, the man’s hands are driving me nuts and I want him banished to the quantum zone

That’s obviously why. As a Bears fan I’m not used to this level of execution of player development. I’m more curious about why Burden isn’t returning kicks. Is it injury prevention? It’s not a position that takes many reps to learn and he has the ideal skillset.

Duvernay was specifically signed to do that job, but Burden has lined up next to him many times, and has 8 kick returns of his own.

Right, but he signed in march. I don’t know where Burden ranked on their draft board or if they even considered the possibility of him falling to 39, so I wonder if he’ll supplant Duverney as KR1.

I like this version of reality.

GB DB never turned his head to play the pass, causes turnover on downs. Never gave Brown a chance to make a play on a very catchable ball.

I thought that should have been PI as well.  It felt like overall, there were a lot less flags this week across the league than there have been recently.  I almost wonder if there was a memo to call fewer penalties.

That may have been the sloppiest final 3 minutes of an NFL game involving good teams I've ever seen.  I have no idea what Philly was doing throwing the ball twice before the 2 minute warning and allowing the Packers to keep 2 TOs and then whatever they did after getting the ball back was ridiculous as well.  Packers execution was just awful in the last 2 minutes as well.

Eagles v. Packers:  both defenses looked really good last night but I think Love really suffered not having Kraft, who had become his security blanket.  Also the Eagles stopped Jacobs.  LaFleur's game plan most weeks is to get the running game going early and then play off that for big throws later.  Without that it's way more difficult to execute their offense and we saw that big time last night.

I'm not sure what happened with Doubs but he also left the game.  It was a bad night for them on a number of levels.

For the Bears (and everyone else), the focus should be stopping Jacobs first.  Easier said than done though.

Good read on Caleb's time to throw numbers as well as the impact of drops

Watching some of the film, Zaccheus' drops look even worse, I know many like to pin such things on Caleb' throws.  Not even the remotest case this time, all extraordinarily catch-able balls most especially Zaccheus' first drop, perfectly thrown, right on the hands.  DJ catches that ball, 10-10 times, hell, even Rome catches that ball, fairly certain Burden does as well.  Regardless of whether DJ is able to go on Sunday or not, I believe were going to see more targets for Burden and less for Zaccheus.  Wouldn't surprise me if Burden is starting in Zaccheus' place by week 13.   Also, Caleb' scramble before the TD pass to Rome, Zaccheus' just loafs and allows the guy covering him to get a shot on Caleb.  Compare that to Kmet blocking his guy three yards into end zone on Caleb' GW TD run.  I'm certain Ben has seen these things as well, Zaccheus' is not long for this team.

You can lay money BJ has seen it.
