Oweh was faced up to the defense the whole way, it would've been pretty risky to foul when he can go up and get 3 shots since he's prepping to shoot anyway.  The real issue with that sequence is that Sendek was calling timeout for a full second before the ball was inbounded and no ref saw/heard him.

Today I learned that when a team gets the ball to start a possession in the front court, the shot clock starts at 20 seconds and not 30. Watching MSU-Louisville, MSU won the tip but knocked it out of bounds in their backcourt. So Louisville got the ball out of bounds and the shot clock started at 20 seconds. They then got a shot clock violation and I was really confused how that was possible with 19:34 left on the game clock.

Illini need to remember they have the big advantage in size and physicality, they can force their will on VCU.  Let's hope they bring it tonight.

Boy that was an awesome ending to Nebraska-Vandy. The last minute and a half there was one timeout called and no fouls, so the game just flowed. And Vandy couldn't have gotten much closer to winning that game on the final shot.

A bit surprised Houston only a 2.5 point favorite on Thursday.  Plus the game is like 87 feet from their campus.  Hoping Illinois can get the win

Houston is (always) a very tough match-up for Illinois.  I'm not optimistic about Thursday's game, but you never know.

If I were Brad I'd pull a Lute Olson on Houston, start whining, complaining about their overt physicality.  But, seriously, if the Illini can pass out of Houston' swarming, hacking, grabbing double teams they'll have open wide open looks.  Making those open looks will go a long way towards winning.  Watched Houston quit a few times and I'll give Big 12 officiating credit, they know Houston commits a lot of fouls and they call them.

Purdue - Miami was interesting in that it appeared Miami has the goods to beat Purdue but, couldn't get out of their own way.  Don't get me wrong, glad the Boilers won.  Maybe, they were fortunate playing an extremely mistake prone Miami team.

What an awful final play by Florida. 4.5 second and you try to dribble all the way under the hoop and pass it? Dribble down, maybe set a screen and get a shot off.

Also, love that Iowa went for the 3 and the win. Give Florida an extra 5 minutes and their talent is more likely to win out.

The path just opened up for Illinois, but Houston stands in their way.  Thursday night's game just got even bigger, knowing that the next one after that will be a very winnable game if they can get there.

Five best B1G teams are still around.

The whole last 2 possessions were an absolute travesty.  Why are you guarding the guy inbounding the ball?  Why are you pressing when the only thing that beats you is a 3?  Keep the ball in front of you and slow them down, forcing them to run an actual offensive set instead of essentially getting a fast break.  Golden completely failed his team there.

He should do exactly that and call Sampson a cheater while he does it.  There may not be a coach I hate more in CBB than that guy, although Scott Drew is a close second.  They're both just so damn slimy.

On one hand it'd be awesome if they could beat Houston.  On the other hand it would so on brand for Underwood to beat Houston only to lose to Nebraska/Iowa in the regional final.

Him and Pearl both cut from the same cloth and that cloth is very slimy.

I would rather lose to Houston.

Was thinking the same, they'll probably lose to Houston.   And Houston will beat Nebraska/Iowa.
