Bruce Pearl retiring.

What do we think, medical, or avoiding the consequences of an investigation?

My immediate reaction was that he must have done something he's not going to be able to wriggle out of this time.

His kid is expected to be the interim. If it was something he did, I can't believe that would be happening.

Looks to me like it's the old "Whoopsie, I quit and it's too late for you guys to go through a hiring process, guess you'll just have to let the guy I wanted to be next take over" move that we've seen a few times already (Virginia, Wisconsin).

Well, sure, that's the most likely scenario but he's trash so I'm just going to assume the worst. 🤣

Fun game between Illinois and Texas Tech last night.  Possibly the softest flagrant foul I've ever seen was called in the last 30 seconds against Illinois but fortunately they were able to overcome that and hang on.  If that call is the new standard for a flagrant, it's going to be a long season in the B1G.

In no world can that be a flagrant foul call.  I can't find a video, but it was as harmless a foul as there is.  Illinois may have got the better end of the calls up until that point, but that doesn't justify the refs inserting themselves into the game at a critical moment on what was truly a basic common foul.

If Illinois can get fully healthy at any point during the season, they are going to be scary deep.  They are currently missing 2 starters and 2 rotational bench players and still look like a Top 10 team in the country.  I just don't know where the minutes are going to come from to get all these guys on the court.

Watched it live Boswell grabs him, he acts as if he was punched in the face, falling to the floor, an obvious embellishment still, not a hard foul in the least.

are you considering Rodgers or Petrovic the 2nd starter missing? I'm not sure either one starts when healthy... but yes, both of them are going to be rotation guys if/when they're healthy, and missing Tomi means missing their likely most important/best offensive player

Important? Probably.  Best? Don't know about that, Andrej Stojakovic looked awfully good, honestly had no idea he was that good.

A little bit of a mix-and-match.  Tomi is a starter, so that's one missing from last night.  Then you have Petrovic and Brandon Lee, either one who MIGHT start over Wagler, but that may change now.  I think the plan was for Lee to be the starter prior to his injury, but Wagler's performance may change that.  And then Rodgers I would say is purely a bench guy.  There are legitimately at least 10 guys though who could see significant minutes on a nightly basis, and a few more players beyond that who could contribute in spots.  If everyone is healthy, it's going to be really hard to keep everyone happy.

Petrovic will start when fully healthy. He’s the ball handler they desperately need. At full strength, it should be Petrovic, Boswell, Stojakovich, Mrkovic, and T. Ivisic 1 through 5 as your starters.

Davis, Humrichous, Z Ivisic, Wagler and Lee will make for a ridiculously strong, deep and big bench.  (I think they’re pleasantly surprised by how good Wagler has been.) Unfortunately, I think it’s going to be a while before Rodgers can play.

So even with all the usual caveats ...

It's early, Some times it takes teams a few games to "find it." We don't yet know exactly how good the opponents are. On and on ...

SDSU by 40 ( State may end up being questionable this year )

Auburn by 30

Gonzaga by 40

DAM MICHIGAN ... is this even legal? Has anyone called CPS on UM yet?

I watched a lot of last night's game. I am not sure they missed a 2 point shot all night(being sarcastic) plus shot about 50% from 3. Don't think that's sustainable, but it really seemed like they were consistently getting quality shots

Keaton Wagler is a dog.  Also has probably seen Friends at some point in his life.

I'm getting kind of tired of the "he only had 2 offers" story, but yeah he looks like the real deal.  There is a long season yet to go, but he is already starting to pop up on mock drafts at the back end of the first round.  It is entirely possible he will be one-and-done.
