Some stupid ass article on ESPN where BJ apparently apologized for a halftime interview with the sideline reporter.  God I hate sports “journalism.”

She did kinda ask a bad question…actually it was more of a follow up comment than a question. He didn’t seem to like that and could have responded better.

I'm pretty sure I heard the announcers mention that Trapilo was in to replace Jones late in the 2nd quarter.

Benedet was already in at RT and then he replaced Jones at LT and Trapilo came in at RT.

He didn’t really apologize but he did explain that he didn’t hear her correctly and wished he’d handled the exchange differently. No need to get your panties in a twist over it.

I saw that interview.  I heard her as simply making a statement that he should change what he's doing.  She either simply got out of her lane, or needs to do her job better.  Johnson may not have heard the exact words but her way of saying it was dumb.  He shouldn't apologize for a reporter's question which was delivered poorly.  Shouldn't even be asked about it afterwards either.  And ESPN needs to find more important things to report on or trim their staff.

Well considering Ben's endorsement for Braxton being the starting LT in week 1 was simply that he knew the playbook and that was it. It was only a matter of time until he was replaced.

Biggs reporting in Tribune that expectation is that it will be Benedet over Jones out of bye. Presumably Wright will be back, but if not Trapilo at RT.

She asked a question if they should change their approach. He heard it as a statement that they needed to change so of course he wasn’t thrilled with being told what to do. That’s what happened. No big deal. Move on to things that are actually important.

Even had Carlson FG not been blocked, I was confident Caleb would have been able to get the Bears in position for a GW FG attempt.

Same. We were in good position to.

On Theo Benedet - I think its pretty nuts that hes getting the nod. Impossible position to be put in or not, he performed horribly. He's a UDFA/No pedigree/guy off the street and hes gonna get abused just like Jones would against certain types of players. He's not ready for the deep end. Hopefully Wright and Trapilo (at least 2nd round pedigree) can lock down the tackle positions.

Im not enthused much by Wright if he cant play LT. We can find guys to adequately cover the broadside. Top 10 picks should be able to block the blindside.

Maybe rigid but that's how I feel.

I really believe Wright being out had a ripple effect, had he played, Bears would have been fine.  They would have turned one or more of those TO's in TD's.

Wright locking down RT would be fine. It’s not 1995 anymore, teams don’t rush just from the blindside. They enlist DE and LB who can rush either side. I have no issues locking down one of those T positions

Maxx Crosby can make anyone look bad. I'm not going to say Trapilo outplayed him, but second half Crosby was not as good as first half Crosby. Did he wear himself out a bit in the first half? Is it easier to block Crosby after he's played a half already and you are coming in fresh? Did Ben scheme more blocking support against Crosby in the second half?

Why did Benedet get the starting nod against the Raiders? Was it the plan all along to rotate the 3 healthy T's to try to get the best out of all of them against a tough pass rush?

VICE had an hour long special on the “They are who we thought they were” game and they did a remarkable job of making it seem very boring. For some reason they interviewed Peyton Manning at the beginning and then the rest of the show had the electric personalities of Brian Urlacher and Sebastian Maniscalco. By the way, how is that dude a comedian? He made Urlacher seem animated. Speaking of 54, I forgot that he had 19 tackles that night. He corrected the host a few times when he tried to bag on Grossman. Also, I forgot the Cardinals had a 40-yard FG attempt with about 45 seconds left that was shanked wide left. The Hester punt return to take the lead was with 2:30+ left in the game. That’s enough time for each team to have 3 more possessions in today’s game.

I'm watching it at the moment and holy horsefeathers Rex Grossman was awful. Like Caleb hasn't even sniffed this level of terrible.

It’s wild to think but football has changed so much in the last 20 years that you can’t even really compare Grossman in 2006 to Caleb in 2025.

the rules have changed, the offensive schemes have changed, and what coaches will tolerate in quarterback play has changed WILDLY

I will forever love Green for that post game presser.  I love the meltdowns.  And he registered one of the best ever.  It's sad though, that game was probably the end of his career, at least in the NFL.

I'm old enough to remember that he coached at Northwestern too.

Denny / Culpepper / Moss was The Show in TC when I was in college.  As a Bears fan, I hated it, but it was impossible to ignore

I know I am way late on this but can somebody tell me why the Xander strike out pitch is controversial? I am looking at a freeze frame of the pitch and granted my eyes are not the sharpest but what the picture is showing me is that the ball crossed the plate at knee high level and was on the corner. To me it looked like a textbook strike. Xander should be pissed at himself for not protecting the plate.

wrong thread buddy

but bleacher report has a freeze frame that shows the ball clipping the low edge of the sz...
