Damn did they play an ugly game and still won.

Ugly as hell.  But that final drive was beautiful.

Hahaha gonna win a game they had no business winning again

Time and time again the Bears have been on the other side of that equation.  Nice to be on the flip side.

holy hell the bye at 2-2 when we need a bunch of bodies back looks beautiful

Wright is the big one, people have been down on him, his absence had a big effect on the line today.  Wright plays and it's a different story, Bears would have won handily.

I spent the day running a new coaxial from my 1965 FM only antenna in my attic to my 1978 Kenwood who is now vera happy::: while watching the bears. All I have to say about the game is ugly, but fair

The Cubs and Illini won yesterday and the Cubs and Bears won today. I'm unfamiliar with how to feel about all of this.

Was just thinking along the same lines.  Don't know if you saw it but, officials ruled a "fumble" on Feagin when he was clearly on the ground with the ball.  Dumb ass officials didn't blow the play dead, just let USC dig and rip out the ball while he was on the ground.  Anyway, my point is that would have so on brand for the Illini to lose that game.

Going to need a lot of improvement between now and then.

That could easily be an 0-7 stretch.

They need Wright and Loveland back, offensively, I'm confident they're going to keep improving.  They'll hang with all those teams on offense.  Defense?  Don't know, Gordon and Edwards coming back would help.

Ozzy Trapillo looked much better than Benedet.

Didn't watch the game was following on CBS, seemed, at some point, Crosby' name appeared less.  His impact on each play was lessened, did that coincide with Trapillo coming in?

They're 2-2 and have played 1 good team and 3 bad ones.

Definitely on pace for 5-7 wins and right in bad hell. Not good enough to get the difference maker but still pretty horrible.

God damn, the last 7 games of the season are brutal

Similar to last years gauntlet. The average record of our last 8 opponents last year was like 12-5

Bears should have most of their injured guys back after the bye. I didn't like a week 5 bye but it comes at a perfect time.  Bears played like ass and found a way to win

 Tides might be turning

Eh, I have more hope than that. New coaching staff and system, but you do have a solid QB and WR (odunze) and hidden talent on offense. On D you hav Allen working miracles with a hurt group. I bet the flirt with the playoffs late and maybe get in

Trapilo was solid at RT, not great, but he didn't get brutalized by Crosby at least. The problem is if he can't play LT they pretty much have to address LT in the draft or in FA next year. On top of various other immediate needs like RB and Edge,

It’s still TBD for me. I can’t see us fixing our defensive line and RB issues midseason. The oline has been a bit concerning but there’s enough talent that I have hope they figure it out. And then the mistakes, penalties, etc. if Ben is a competent coach that should improve

I did see a couple times they had a TE out there with him.  Could have been a little of both Trapillo and some extra help. Crosby is a monster.

Swift was open in the left flat

I just got to rewatch the play again. He was open for the catch but there was a guy spying him that he would have had to beat to score
