Yamamoto is already an MLB legend

I don't like it, but I agree with you.

I took a flier on Yamamoto at like 15-1 due to this exact reasoning. Ohtani will probably win, but if he doesn’t do much tomorrow, he really only had the one big game and he didn’t have a great start on the mound either.

Sure the Dodgers have won 2 straight World Series and probably have the most talented team of all time but hey they could use 6 more WAR in RF so time to back up the Brinks truck for Tucker

Also, might as well scoop up those Japanese players that are being posted. Bench could use some upgrades

Sign him to a 10 year deal worth $450 Million and $40 of the $45 Million will be in deferrals. Hello, lockout!

Choke is a way over used term. It is definitely being over used here

You can use a different word if you want but I think it perfectly describes what happened here.

It is and yet, I don’t think there’s been a team closer to winning a World Series without winning it. Yes other teams have blown 9th inning game 7 leads but I don’t think they had the bases loaded with 1 out in the bottom of the 9th after blowing it and then inches from winning it at the plate or winning it from 2 OF crashing into each other. Or the tying run on 3rd with 1 out in the 11th. It’s pretty crazy just how close they got multiple times

i still think they were curiously fast to move on from that play at the plate

You can’t overturn that. Not in that game, not in that situation. That was the correct call.

I completely agree...but they didn't choke. They didn't go 5 over par with a 4 stroke lead with 4 holes to play. They were up 3 runs in the 3rd. The Dodgers chipped away. The Blue Jays didn't make any dumb plays, they actually made several really nice plays. They didn't choke, they lost an extremely competitive game to a really good team.

They lost an extremely competitive game to a really good team. Thats not choking, even if they had a 3 run lead after 3. It was never a blow out, they didn't make any errors or mental mistakes. They just lost a game to a really good team.

Errors aren't the only way you can choke. And I wouldn't classify blowouts as chokes. But almost everything about the Blue Jays story in these last two games involves them doing the worst thing they could do in the most important situations. That's definitely qualifies them here.

Really, except for being doubled off last night, what were these worst things? Not getting a hit? If that's your answer, just keep it. We will just agree to disagree what choke really means.
