How can his xFIP be that high?

Thanks for the info.  He's been actually better than I thought, and I thought he's been really great.

Watching Brown pitch just frustrates me to no end.  Everything is there for him to be really really good and he flashes it all the time, but he just can't put it together.

xFIP is normalizing his HR rate, which is very low.  Similarly, Skenes has the lowest HR/FB in the league and by extension his xFIP is 60 points higher than his FIP

5.1% HR/FB is crazy low. Most pitchers sit in the 9-12% range. That's when you have to go and check quality of contact to see if that HR/FB is a fluke or not. Comparatively Skenes has the lowest HR/FB  amongst qualified pitchers at 6.5%

It feels like Cubs are the cure for every bad pitcher in the league.  If you really suck, don’t worry.  The Cubs will make you look good.

I let out a laugh when I looked up the Brewers score. They actually appear to be significantly better against good teams than they are against bad teams. They’re simply unbeatable against teams over .500, but a human, occasionally beatable team against bad teams.

The Brewers literally lost to the Phillies the last time they played

In their last 9 games against playoff teams they are 4-5
