Earlier in the year I wouldn’t sweat this, but now I’m never sure when the offense has simply given their two runs and are done scoring for the night.

I know they are 8-2 in their last 10, clearly playing better, guys are not as lost at the plate, but they still don't feel there offensively.  They should come out of it at some point, and obviously Saturday was a great start but frustrating to still see them at 0-4 runs most games.

You're welcome when they score 6 more runs and win this game.

I know our next day off isn't till next Thursday and all this stuff accumulates but don't really love the idea of making Boyd grind through this inning and get up to 100 pitches when they've clearly seen him pretty well today.

Been teeing off on Boyd from the first batter. I guess the awesome pitching couldn’t go on forever. Oh well.

Counsell has always been 1 batter too late when it comes to pulling a starter that’s struggling

With the way they are hitting , I can safely go to bed now .  With Webb going Thursday , it’s going to be tough to win this series now .

You do realize the Cubs are starting a pitcher with better numbers across the board in a park that eliminates one of Shota's weak spots which is the HR ball.  It's not going to be easy but I'd give the Cubs the slight edge there.

Outside of that yeah, its difficult to win a 3 game series when you lose the first game.

To add to this, I'm doing the selective sample size thing again because the ABs really have been better lately, but if they don't score 3 more runs tonight they will have scored 4 runs or less in 14 of their last 16 games.  Thankfully 7-7 in the 14 they've scored 4 or less.

Don’t understand pulling Busch there. He’s been competing against lefty’s pretty well the last couple weeks. Counsell’s decision making can really hurt this team sometimes.

I'm too lazy to go look it up right not, but the Cubs have been terrible for awhile now in the first game of a series.  I have no idea if that means anything, but they are starting almost every series in an 0-1 hole.

2-9 in the opening game of our last 11 series.  Only wins are the first game against the Orioles (1-0) and first game against the Angels (3-2).   In 3 of the 9 losses, they've managed to recover to win the series.

In August they've scored 11 total runs in the opening game of the 8 series they've played (plus if they get any more runs tonight)

This Cubs team has no fight anymore once they get down by multiple runs

I believe the last game they’ve won after trailing by multiple runs was 7/2 against Cleveland
