I know it’s going to be ok. It’s mind boggling I keep reading these posts of the this fools pretending this is something new. Can’t stand people like you just beating around the bush and not calling it what it is. What the hell is horse feathers anyway?

This collapse seems to be worse than all the others we’ve seen.  It’s abysmal.  I loathe this team right now.

I know it feels that way, but going .500 for 2 1/2 months is in no way the worst collapse you've seen

Going from 99% to missing the playoffs in like 6 weeks would be worse than anything we've seen.

If it comes to that, I'd pass if im the Cubs.

Id rather they just go with Caissie PCA and whomever in the OF over going through another season of playing extend him or not extend him and likely having him leave if he has a good year.

2026 Cubs will likely be built around  Busch Shaw PCA and Caissie as the main core with Swanson being that contract guy they cant move.

Guys like Happ Hoerner Suzuki will likely be moved at the deadline or play out the season if not traded in offseason

Here we go again.  After all the rumors about trading Hoerner last offseason, you want to trade the only hitter on the team who understands the value of putting the ball into play.

the cubs are absolutely maddening right now but, astonishingly, this is still not a historic collapse. not yet anyway (it would be would they collapse out of the playoffs entirely)

11-13 since the ASB.  They’re much closer to missing them than they were, and losing less than 1 game per week against LA, NYM and CIN keeps them at home for the playoffs.  Lost 6 out of the last 8 series.  All that has to happen is they keep playing exactly as they are.

the worst will always be 2004. at least there's no internal fighting or any of the bullpen guys getting into fisticuffs with JD on airplanes.

Victor Diaz 3-run homer for the Mets off bitch-ass Kent Mercker. Just kill me.

if memory serves me correctly, mercker was one of the better bullpen arms that season.

He might have been, but I just remember that game and him calling the broadcast booth because he was so soft.

You really think theyre going to extend Hoerner after 2026?

he'll either get traded at 2026 deadline depending on how team is doing or he'll just  finish out the year.(more likely to happen)

I guess we all have that moment that sets the standard for misery.  Mine is 1984, that grounder going through Leon Durham’s legs.  On that day, I learned this was not a nice world.

I feel awful for the fans of whatever poor team signs Tucker long term this offseason. Mind bogglingly awful player. Just so, so bad I can’t even find the words. He sucks the fun out of watching baseball.

The maddening thing about this team right now is, the moment they fall behind, it's over. It's one thing if they come out bashing HRs and chaining XBHs together, but it's as if the moment the team goes down 1, the offense goes straight into the crapper and can't even scratch a run across with runners in scoring position and no outs.

I know this won't last, but it's so horsefeathers disheartening.

He's in a slump, dude.
