About the most I can see Cassie being used is like geo8888 said. Fill in for a guy. They may even go back to Suzuki in center to give PCA a breather. Maybe be gets 3 games a week. As Jason said, he isn’t replacing any of those guys on a regular basis.

Wouldn't want to upset our incredible hitting right now.  heh heh jokes

Case in point: Matt Shaw hit better than Owen Caissie at Iowa this year, and we saw how long it took him to be a significant contributor

Morel lit the league on fire when he first came up.  Adjustment is likely but i don't think there's a hard and fast rule.

PCA was on fire earlier in the year and now he's hitting horribly.  Hitters get hot and cold, it doesn't always mean anything significant.

I'm willing to buy the logic that you shouldn't automatically assume a 300-400 PA adjustment period of terrible hitting.

I'm not willing to buy the logic that current Owen Caissie is a better hitter than current Seiya Suzuki.

I'm better than current Seiya Suzuki so the bar for Caissie is pretty low currently.

People are crazy and want to believe what they want to believe. Facts be damned🤷

That is a statement on society as a whole, tbh.

I think we shouldn't put too much emphasis on how Caissie going to perform in these final 43 games of season.

He could have a hot 3-4 games today and over the weekend against Pirates pitching and then tail off or he can spend these next 43 games looking like Vaughn in Milwaukee for them. Of course he could just look like April Matt Shaw.

I think bottom line, this is just an opportunity now for Caissie to likely get around 80 or so PA at this level and he'll be able to go into the offseason and work on some adjustments that he may need, whether he hits well or struggles.

For the team itself, I think it will be helpful just to be able to give the 4 OFers much needed off days so they are rested and whatever aches them can heal for the playoffs.

Can't wait for Caissie to become the board's most despised hitter within the next two weeks.

I hate him already. 😆

I agree in theory, but he might be better if Seiya and other guys are hitting horribly right now.  They may need some more time off or just a mental reset.  I don't see any issue with trying something different if our current lineup is in a tailspin.

You mean the .312 OBP, 78 wRC since the ASB Seiya Suzuki? We don't need to act like Seiya has been much  better than an average hitter for about 2 1/2 months now - 104, 103, 118 wRC in each of the last 3 months, down from 156 and 138 the first two months and 118, 128 and 137 the last three years.
