Wait Sunday Night Baseball starts at 5pm now? What an odd time for a game at Wrigley to start.

Probably didn’t want to conflict with the NASCAR Cup race at Grant Park.

They have a double header with another game starting at 8

No game between these two teams is ever easy.

Pretty safe to say the Cubs are going to score quite a few runs, too many guys in their lineup have crushed Fedde.

Well, CC at least moved Swanson down to 6 behind Busch, but that just means there will be another guy in front of him that could get into scoring position 😏😏😏😏🤣

Well, at least the Phillies won, nice they beat other NL Central teams besides the Cubs.

Because of potential seeding implications the Phillies winning is worse for us than the Reds and I'm not sure it's close

Guessing this will be a delayed start due to weather, but they should get this one in without issue.

I would guess 630 CDT start time

Hell yeah Boyd made the All Star team. Back to back seasons Jed signed a starter who immediately makes the All Star game

They're a half step behind the holy trinity of the Rays/Guardians/Brewers, but the Cubs are clearly a "you get some benefit of the doubt" team when it comes to pitcbers.

The host of the all star selection show on espn just insinuated Pete Alonso would be the leading NL MVP candidate if it weren’t for Ohtani. Do these guys know literally anything about how baseball works?

No other cubs named. How does Busch not make the team?

Funnily enough, Michael Busch (162 wRC+) has hit better than Pete Alonso (161 wRC+) on the year. So even if the league wanted to select the player with the 19th best fWAR in baseball (Pete Alonso) he hasn't even been the best hitter in the NL at his own position.

Spoiler

Obligatory: Michael Busch's wRC+ is likely inflated to being shielded from LHP all season and Pete Alonso has 80 more PA's on the season, but from dramatic effect I'm going to hide that point here in a spoiler because I'm petty and making a point.

Squeezed for position. Same as Suzuki and Kelly, really.

The top-2 fWAR first baseman are in the NL in Pete Alonso and Matt Olson. With Freddie Freeman (4th in fWAR) starting at the position, Alonso and Olson were selected as reserves, thus Michael Busch (3rd in fWAR) got squeezed.
