Dude gives up a lot of hard contact

He does, although, the only hard contact that inning was O'Neil, they didn't exactly crush Rea that inning.

Rea, and it no even close, while inconsistent, Brown has the stuff to dominate, Rea has no capacity to do so.

Have to consider if Brown is on an innings limit

Yes, which is why they need another starting pitcher asap. I am sure Horton is in one as well.

I like that Counsell is thinking big picture and getting a few guys a few days of rest  with the day off tomorrow. Maddon used to do the same thing. Of course the Cubs bench was much stronger in those days.

That all im looking for, just having a couple guys that when you need to plug them in at least they're not basically automatic outs and you have some confidence they can contribute.

Amaya being out has hurt

Hopefully Assad can come back at some point and give them some good innings, along with a trade acquisition

It is kind of crazy to think that the Cubs are without 3 of their starting pitchers from last year and still having this much success.  If they were healthy, this would be the best team in the league, record wise, by at least a few games

Lol what the hell is this offense? horsefeathers happens every year with this team. No consistent offense at all. It's feast or famine, no in-between.

Remembering back when they used to score 6+ runs before the 6th inning,   ahhhh the good ol days.
