Now that Brown's already ruined the game, he can pitch the next 5 innings stress free (jk).  But seriously if he does that, let's not pretend that he's a good SP

His future is in the bullpen

That said, if he does that he would get a QS.

Really did we expect anything of Brujan?  Is realistic to do so? Soon, could Alcantara be an option?  Don't know his splits however, I'm certain he'd be more of threat than Brujan has ever been.  Guess, then you have to keep Berti.

Chuy might break Wood's record

In 150+ years of Baseball, I am surprised no one has ever had 21 strikeouts. It’s as if players, fans, commentators don’t even consider that it is a thing that can actually happen.  The way Luzardo is going, we might see it today.

I am sure Alcantara would be a better option. The problem is I think the Cubs want to get him AB. He won’t get them on the bench in the majors.

I just knew the dipshit would be "on" today, has a great track record vs. the Cubs, could see it coming from a 1000 miles away.

I always hated that stat.  No pitcher should be rewarded for giving up 3 ER in 6 IP.  That's very average

Except he is left handed. I would think they would want a right handed bat for PCA every once in a while. But maybe not. Yes he is a good bench player.

we'll be seeing these new additions come July when Hoyer starts making trades.

They definitely need to upgrade the bench bats soon.

These guys are going to be needing days off here and there to get through July and August and stay fresh for a postseason run in September,  and having guys on the bench that could contribute more times then not when givin the opportunity is important when you're trying to win games to make the playoffs.

Brujan,  Berti, and Turner aren't exactly guys you wanna see getting those ABs when regulars are getting a breather.

I’m actually not a fan of it either. But very average is a guy who is a starting pitcher in the majors. #4 guy on a decent team. I think a stat for QS is ok to have. But is should probably be either 6 innings and 2 runs or 3 runs in 7 innings. Regardless, he isn’t getting a QS anyway. Kyle made sure of that.

Well at least we get the Pirates this weekend. Should be a big boost for our bats tomorrow when we face *checks notes* Skenes

I thought Skenes was Friday?

You have been suggesting upgrading the bench for years. But never give us an example of who they should go after and at what cost. Who are they going to get for the 100 AB they have for him? They are not cutting Turner and they have to have a back up catcher. So what infielder/outfieler can they get? How many teams have this random stud bench bat?
Jed basically said he likes the offense. He will be working on pitching.

Only a matter of when that Schwarber was going to club one this series.

When Imanaga returns,  it'll probably be best to send Brown down and let him work on that changeup, unless your blowing fastballs by these guys and the curves have them looking silly,  you can't survive long against major league hitters with just those 2 pitches as a starter unless you have pinpoint location.

It is. Heaney is tommorow. We’ll have another excuse for a 7 inning 1 run gem again on Friday.

Yeah I thought so, didn;t make sense as Skenes last pitched Sunday.

A 97 mph fastball down the middle to Kyle Schwarber may be the worst pitch I’ve ever seen 😑

What did the "peripherals" say about that pitch?
