What a weird matchup.  Two guys pitching like high end #2 starters both with ugly ERAs because they've been BABIPed into oblivion.

Who will the baseball gods screw over harder today?  Tune in at noon to find out!

Ben Brown faces the team that traded him away tonight. Let's see a big revenge game.

Would you say revenge game for Luzardo to?  Cubs backed out on the trade for him for medical reasons.

What was the medical concern?  Could it be why Luzardo been cold?

Luzardo spent time on the injured list last season with both elbow inflammation and a lumbar stress reaction in his back; the latter injury kept him from pitching after late June. Specifics on the return that the Cubs would have sent to Miami remain unreported.

Pretty weak line up today. But they did need to give PCA a day. This is a good one to give him. And, who knows? The line up will probably put up 8 runs today. It happens!!!! Hopefully Brown is good today. He fell apart in the 4th inning his last start against the Phillies.

I assume PCA is just getting rest and it’s not injury related?

I am sure it is.

This roster is too good to have a "surrender" lineup (like Dusty used to roll out on Sundays), but hoo boy, there are too many automatic outs in there for my liking. That top 3 better do some damage

Probably. He needs rest plus his blunder throwing home yesterday instead of the cutoff man might have made today a good day to have off.

What surrender lineup are we complaining about here ? Yes not having PCA sucks , but he has played everyday so far . Today’s matchup seems like the perfect day to do it Busch sucks againts lefties . so starting Turner is the standard move here . Turner has been better the last month or so .

My biggest concern is Brujan defensively at CF . They need a true CF backup option , , even if it is an all glove player .

Hopefully they make changes to the bench at the deadline . Need a a CF and a 3B that can get a hit every now and then . If it means Berti / Brujan getting cut , won’t miss any of them .

I agree that Berti and Brujan are redundant. Get rid of one of them and get a right handed hitting outfielder who can play center.

Who’s complaining? Would you rather have PCA sit vs the Pirates or Phillies? It’s a preference. Not the end of the world. I realize the b lineup is half redundant because Turners in the lineup vs lefties no matter what.

It's a day game after a night game against a tough lefty starter.  The individual games are not that crucial that it's worth hand wringing that PCA play through this stretch so he can be rested against a worse team(and worse SP)

I just looked at Busch's splits vs. LHP this year and yikes.

On the one hand, he needs regular AB's vs. lefties to actually improve against them, but on the other, maybe not today
