Good god, please stop saying that.

Sure.  I'm glad the Cardinals lost last night.

YES! Thank you. I have written and deleted this request several times. Glad someone else said it. We are all adults (I think).

I urge you to re-read yesterday's game thread.

Good Lord, come up with a suitably derogatory nickname will ya?

Not going through pages of posts. But if I failed to delete it one time, that is fine. Glad it was said anyway. There was once when I hit send and then didn’t see it get posted. Maybe I missed it, again that is fine.

I also agree with gflore about being glad the cardinals lost. 👍

I wasn't convinced that baseball needed a "sideline" reporter, but T-Mac is delightful and informative and has such a fun rapport with JD and Boog that I kinda can't imagine broadcasts without her anymore.

Your assertion that this guy has been mistake free in his 2 MLB starts is presumptuous at best.  He was allowing about 6.5 walks per 9 last year and had a 6.46 ERA in AAA last year and while he's cut that down to a little over 4BB/9 this year, he's still going to miss frequently.  This is the kind of pitcher the Cubs lineup should chew up and spit out in 4, maybe 5 innings.  This kid is far from fully developed and it's a near guarantee that long term, Horton is a better putcher than Abel. This is also his 5th year as a pro with 94 starts in the minors and Horton is in his 3rd full season with 36 starts in the minors.

Was thinking about this, obviously the right call on your part and wrong on my part.  Post was more frustration, Horton' not a finished product, good things will come in time.

The chemistry between Boog and JD wasn't there from the beginning.  I think it took a season or more before they really started to gel as a broadcast team.  So I don't think it's fair to say that Cohen and JD couldn't develop chemistry over time.

Exactly,  this is his first year getting alot of time in the booth with them, he has done pretty good in Iowa the last couple years when he was teaming up with Elise.

You have a veteran analyst in JD who has been used to working with two of the top PBP guys in Len and now Boog, who now when he is there is working with a younger guy getting his feet wet.

It hard to get chemistry when that booth is like a revolving door because both JD and Boog are missing half the games.

We Cubs fans have been spoiled and lucky to have had hall of famers PBP guys over the last what 70 years.

Name a few,  Jack Brickhouse, Vince Lloyd, Milo Hamilton,  Lou Boudreau, Harry Carey, Pat Hughes, Len Kasper

Since Marquee and Len leaving, the last 5 years hasn't really been all that great with the revolving door.

I still miss and pine for Len. I will never quite understand how we lost him

Probably stuffing them in a box and making them wear ties i believe was the early complaint with Marquee

Since its like Festivus and we are all airing our grievances can I ask:

When the Cubs are losing or on a losing streak- the doomers lighten up

When the Cubs are winning tone down on the bitching about the damn announcers

Len said he always wanted to do radio broadcasting. He wasn’t going to do it as long as Hughes was around. I don’t think it was him hating Marquee so much as it was he wanted to be the radio voice. As a side note, I find all this talk about the announcers silly. Who cares. Watch the damn game. Why does everything have to be critiqued?
Not meant for you specifically. Just all the comments about announcing amaze me. This is a baseball site. Let’s talk baseball, not who announces it.

We shouldn’t talk about baseball announcers on a baseball site?

Can we bitch if, for TV or streaming, we're forced to listen to the opponents' announcers?

Maybe, a separate thread or ask permission?

This is one of the reasons I really can't complain about the Cubs announcers, be it Boog, Cohen or otherwise.  Other teams have such bad announcers that what we get to listen to is like a symphony in comparison.

As much as we do? I guess so. I just don’t care who announces. Probably just me!

That's not what I was attempting to say. You said "We are all grown ups (I think)" and the previous days game thread was full of what felt like non grown up discussion.
