Pomeranz was an insanely shrewd pickup. Great job by the scouts. Jed's pen construction is confounding and frustrating but he has a pretty versatile pen now. I wonder if Craig tries to ride him for 2 innings.

I was wondering the same thing. In fact, maybe him for two then Theilbar for 2 before turning  to Rea. Tigers are especially tough on lefties so those guys might not be used much in Detroit. So maybe they can get 4 innings out of the two lefties.

Remember when Luzardo led the NL in ERA just 2 starts ago.......

Don't worry he'll be dialed in when he faces the Cubs.

Pissbirds will be 5 out by the end of day.

Blame the Royals loss on the manager. He has a short pen with their main set up guy in the IL. He has a pitcher with a shutout thru 6 on 82 pitches, of which almost 30 were in the second inning. It is the first game of a doubleheader so he should try to get an extra inning out of his starter, who is cruising. Instead he goes to the pen and they give up 2 runs. Followed by 2 in the 8th. That starter absolutely should have pitched into the 7th.

Just win, don't want to go into the Detroit series on a losing streak.

Whitesox dipped into the Tigers pen the last 2 game so that was good.

JD: Irvin is from Bloomington, MN and was a 4th round pick

Cohen (literally next sentence): Irvin was a 4th round pick out of Bloomington, MN

I'd like a comfortable double digit win today

So PCA has a 2 run HR to dead center that I can't believe he muscled out and he just raced into the gap to snag what probably should've been a double. Just another day
