I do not enjoy watching Pressly pitch. Dub. Should take over 1st.

Lets talk positives:

- Shota at home is still Shota at home

- Cubs dealt with bad Babip luck. Still won.

- Hodge looks like real deal

- Sneaky good game for Shaw. All three PAs could have been legit hits, then a hard fought (maybe a little luck) walk. Nice defensive play in the 9th too.

- Despite his best efforts at times, Pressely eventually got the job done.

- 1st loss for SD on the year.

- Looks pretty likely we take 1st in the Central

umpire-assisted walk

Damn you're right, I thought strike 2 in that AB was a ball and was excited to correct the legendary TT but game day shows it as a strike and obviously ball 1 hit the corner, good call.

Very enjoyable watching and listening to the Cubs putting an end to the Padres winning streak .  I say listening because the Padres crew was on MLB.  Not so enjoyable watching Pressly scared to throw strikes, cannot remain the closer.  Dodgers’ winning streak ends tonight.

Most encouraging thing for me is the quality ABs we’re seeing throughout the lineup.

Especially in a cold April game. That’s a good recipe at Wrigley this time of year.

I just hope they don't go through the random May dip they went on the last 2 years.  I feel like the last 2 Aprils we came out of the gate having quality PA after quality PA and then we slumped for a while before getting it going in the summer months.

May the last two years was a strength of schedule thing IMO.  So the team *should* be having that dip right now if it were to happen.

That said last year's dip lasted through June well after the schedule let up so 🤷

I suspect there will be a dip. It's baseball. 162 game schedules create dips for all. A few years ago when the Dodgers lost to the Astros in the WS they won 20 in a row and lost 10 in a row the same year. It's a weird sport.

But they look quality. So despite a dip later I'm feeling better and better about this team being there at the end of the season into the playoffs.

Pressley definitely is looking like a potential problem

Maybe, but not based on today. He was get squeezed. Padres we’re not chasing.

Just two starts but Leiter's been incredibe to start the year and looked like he was breaking out.  Now we miss him and get gifted Patrick Corbin.

This April has been the opposite of early last year.  Early last year we got the teeth of every single rotation we faced, now it's the opposite.

True. But team wise this is an incredibly hard month of competition.
