A CBS mock draft of the second round shows the Bears getting TreyVeyon Henderson (RB) at 39 and Donovan Ezeiruaku (EDGE) at 41.

While I felt LT was the biggest need, I would say that haul would be pretty damn good. Maybe there is hope Amegadjie can be the guy after one more year as Braxton's understudy. Maybe Jones does better with a better supporting cast and gets extended. All hope is not lost. They could go Aereontae Ersery (OT) with one of those 2nd round picks and then grab an EDGE or RB in the 3rd. Safety is the next biggest need of those not mentioned.

Same mock has OT Charles Grant going to the Bears in the 3rd. Braxton was only a 5th rounder, so maybe they can catch lightning in a bottle and grab another 4 year starter on day 3.

Well Golden is going to burn the Bears many times for huge plays.

Right back at them with Loveland crisping the Packer' asses a few times for big plays.

Think Loveland' going to be the impact player we all hoped the Bears would get at #10.

Tonight Bears pick at #39, #41 and #72, I'd like to see OL/DL, RB, DB/WR.

I don't have anyone that I'm desperately hoping is there at 39, but any of Henderson,  Emmanwori or Ezeiruaku would all be good gets. If Will Johnson is there at 41 I'd probably roll the dice and hope for the best. I was kind of hoping that Simmons was going to make to to 39, but no go.

I had been going back and forth between Loveland and Warren, so I'm fine with the pick. One thing to note is that Loveland is nearly two years younger than Warren. I get the thought of trading down, but if Loveland was their guy, I'm not sure he would have made it past San Francisco at 11.

As Tryptamine mentioned, above, Henderson, Emmanwori, Ezeiruaku, or potentially Johnson are who I have my eye on for day 2. I've seen Henderson raved for his pass blocking ability - something that gets overlooked for running backs that doesn't show up on the stat sheet.

Loveland played with a pretty serious shoulder dislocation most of last year, which required surgery/ reconstruction in January.  I guess the doctors said it’s going to be fine but I have a little PTSD when it comes to the Bears using a 1st round pick on a player with an injury issue.

My sister and nephew are UM alums and are stoked by the pick.  I would rather have taken Warren.  We’ll see…

I absolutely adore the Loveland pick. This is Ben Johnson's 1st pick as a Bear and he's perfect for the run/pass game marriage.

Still believe they want a burner at WR too (Kyle Williams), but probably don't want to pay that high 2nd round price now after investing in Loveland. My guess is Kaleb Johnson is their pick at RB.

Have a HC name Johnson, a QB name Caleb, so why not have a RB name Kaleb Johnson..

Yes, I would not mind the Bears drafting Johnson.

They are saying Loveland's recovery time is 6 months? Ugh that is right at the start of training camp. I too have PTSD

I read 4-6 months.  Hopefully closer to 4.

Count me in the PTSD crowd, I'm certain it's on hot take on my part but, horsefeathers, the Bears have had terrible luck when comes to picking players, especially first rounders, coming off an injury.  Nothing ever seems to work out, either the start of camp is delayed or the injury keeps popping up leading to missed games, everything that can go wrong usually does.

Jaylon Johnson had shoulder surgery six weeks before the Bears selected him.

The only reason he was available in the second round

What's with the F grade for Ersery?  Too early for him or is he not expected to be able to stick at T?

Eddie Jackson was coming off a broken leg when the Bears selected him

I would be very happy with either of those scenarios. It's also well known they're big fans of Andrew Mukaba.

Mukaba is a TINY safety... 5-11 186 lbs? CB, sure, but S?

I know, my 1st thought as well. He's an absolute thumper too and gave me some Bob Sander's vibes. He's got elite instincts as a processor/ballhawk and is a picture perfect successor to Byard. Versatile enough to play single high centerfielder and to play man in the slot with Kyler Gordon level run fits.
