Now Ditka is gonna die and the Bears will suddenly become offensive juggernauts for the next 50 years and no one will know why

Bears announced their coaching staff.  Most of the names we knew but a few were added from previous lists, don’t ask me which. The S&C guy was promoted from previous spot and at least one of the assistants is a holdover so not sure if we can hope for any improvement in health management

Bears cut Gerald Everett and DeMarcus Walker, adding about $10 million in additional cap space.

Also Ian Cunningham will not be the Jaguars next GM, but based on the photos Jacksonville did hire a guy that matched in Charlottesville and on January 6.

Everett definitely

Walker I hate to see go with a relatively small cap number. Seems more sensible to keep him until he is forced off the team by other additions. He's a good run defender DE who can bump inside. Not sure why he had to go right now...

Abdul Carter to have a screw put in his foot. Does he drop to the Bears at #10? And if so would it be worth it for Poles to take another injury risk in the draft?

The bears are desperate for impact players. If the best player in the draft drops to them at 10 they have to take him. He won’t drop.

Some chatter about the Bears signing Mack, unless he's cheap, don't believe any cap space should be wasted on him.  I'd rather they sign Chase Young and Marcus Davenport, believe both can be had on cheap one year prove-it deals.  There's also been some thought they are looking to follow Dennis Allen to the Bears.

$17 million for an average LG who has had some injury issues but has also been a Pro Bowler

I’ve seen reports that said he’s due 9m and 14.6 million besides the 17.5m. Not sure which one to believe. Hopefully the 9m.

9m base plus 8.5 roster bonus.

he’s owed 17m this year and I am fine with that. This is what happens when you sit out two straight free agency periods in order to tank. They had not choice but to spend this money and a whole lot more for other guys

I’m okay with it too. Free agents are going to be a bidding war, as per usual. 6th rounder for a recent pro bowler? Heck yeah.

If he does come back, here is his entrance song

A certain segment of bears media and fandom must be apoplectic that Bears aren’t tendering sanborn

He certainly was the poster child for angry old white racist dudes who live in another era but I’ll give this to Sanborn: for a very limited player who could never start but be a situational player, he made a decent amount of impact plays. Credit to him.
