Well, back to 4 games out and only one more tough series after this one. The odds are astronomically low (keep in mind bc of the tiebreaker they are really 5 out) but keep winning and have fun

I think he might have caught that homer earlier in the game if the fan didn’t grab it first.

I thought it was close to being fan interference,  surprise they didn't look at it

Would have been nice if they had actually scored some runs against the Yankees. Only allowing 6 runs but losing the series was annoying.

He caught it they don’t need to look at it, but if he didn’t catch it I would’ve def asked for the fan interference.

75-70 on the year. The offense has been on a tear for weeks and have gone gone 3-2 over the Yankees and Dodgers the last 5 games. If only Alzolay didn’t blow a stupid amount of saves early in the season, Neris wasn’t the closer for way too long and Kyle Hendricks hasn’t someho been given 21 starts this year…

Kind of crazy the Cubs might win more games than last year (would need to go 9-8 to surpass last year’s win total) but last year we were alive until the 2nd to last game of the season and this year we’re pretty much out of it with 2+ weeks to go (prove me wrong Cubs!)

We were talking about the homer earlier in the game off Shota. Can’t remember which one. I think the second Edman.

My apologies, I thought he was talking about the game ending catch.

Yep

remarkably similar

Ref "fan interference", I believe the fan can play the ball as long as it's not in the field of play.  On the second Edman HR, I don't think the fan reaches over the wall, unlike the last play of the game.

Pretty simple why that is not fan interference. The ball is not in the field of play when it is touched. PCA is going into the stands to try and make a play on it. There is no fan interference in those situations. Fan interference is called when a fall reaches into the field of play.

It’s pretty damn close. He’s probably slightly over the wall, but definitely not egregious to where I’d expect that to be called.

Looks like a panic attack.

He was pitching at a really fast pace.  I think it was probably anxiety, let's hope.
