Is there any reason why JD will be relegated to the role of Robin no matter who he is paired with?

Because it's a different job?  That's isn't to say that he COULDN'T do play by play, but that generally isn't what he does.

Nice way to end a very successful road trip, 5-2, could have been 6-1.  I'll take back the Morel hate for one game, who knows, maybe, this starts a heater for him.  He's certainly due.  It was also great they finally took it to Mikolas.

I agree, I like Cohen

PCA up to a 64 wRC+ on a .582 OPS. Much work to be done, but if he can get up to a mid .600 OPS by year end I'll be pleased.  The K% continues to fall and is down to 25.9% on the season.

Zac Gallen is pitching for the Dbacks right now.  While he could start as early as Friday, presumably they will use the ASB to get him some actual rest and he won't go in the Cubs' series next weekend?  If we can face the Dbacks in a series where we throw Steele and Shota and they don't throw Gallen or Kelly that's a huge opportunity to keep this momentum going coming out of the break.

Didn't see the game, but the highlights show each infielder making a stud defensive play.

Yes. Great defense and a truckload of dongs

God I'd feel so much better about this team  if they didn't blow game 2 last night.

I’d feel the same way if it wasn’t the 20th+ time it’s happened this season. At least one late inning lead coughed away/week is expected.

Jed will make a transaction for a pen arm with a proven track record in 2027.

Mastro and Busch have been fantastic lately. We expect Nico and Swanson to do their thing but the defense has really turned a corner with Mastro handling 3b and Busch making plays at 1b.

why is PCA making that throw home? Where is the cutoff man?

Does PCA use cutoff men?  Does he even throw to home on a bounce as they teach?  I've seen him throw over the catcher multiple times.  He always errs on making the spectacular play, sometimes at the expense of making the smart play.
