Ok, so who do the Cubs have on short deals that other teams might want? I'm struggling to come up with anyone.

I think it'll be more about which guy in the system they want to bring up and get AB to and whomever blocking them will get moved.

Why did we not just play Busch at 3B

I think it's pretty clear what the Cubs think of Busch's future at the position considering that the Chicago Cubs play Morel at 3b but not Busch.

I know I'm in the minority here with this but Busch just don't seem to be a guy to give everyday starts to.

I think he's probably a LH previous years Bote type of player off the bench and DH here and there against some RHers.

He’s literally our best hitter this year. As a rookie. While struggling to make adjustments to the league adjusting to his hot start.

Not sure if that says more about him or the rest of the team.

My guesses for a potential sell off.  We're no where near close to doing at this point but this team is pissing me off so I'm in the mood to kick people off the team.

Should look to trade in the event of a sell off:

Mark Leiter Jr

Tyson Miller

Hector Neris

Patrick Wisdom (power bat, might get small return)

Cody Bellinger

Mike Tauchman

Julian Merryweather (if healthy)

Absolutely dump if you can but probably either too bad or contract is too big/long:

Drew Smyly

Ian Happ

DFA is the only way to get rid of:

Kyle Hendricks

Yan Gomes

Keegan Thompson

Nick Madrigal

Miles Mastrbuoni

Keep for the Next Great Cubs Team™:

Javier Assad

Ben Brown

Porter Hodge

Shota Imanaga

Justin Steele

Hayden Wesneski

Nico Hoerner

Pete Crow-Armstrong

Jordan Wicks

Undecided/Probably keep but not untouchable:

Yency Almonte

Adbert Alzolay

Luke Little

Daniel Palencia

Jameson Taillon

Miguel Amaya

Michael Busch

Christopher Morel

Dansby Swanson

Seiya Suzuki

Where do you even begin with fixing this team? There’s one gaping hole after another on this horribly constructed roster.

It really is amazing how many holes this team had with the amount of money they have spent. They went into the season with question marks at 1B, 3B, and catcher and had a substandard pen and only want to go over the tax if they are close to the playoffs at the trading deadline. Well now it won’t matter because this is a 3rd place team.

If this game gets washed out the Cubs have gained a full game on the Brewers the last 24 hours

Seriously this whole organization sucks ass

That HR still fails to assuage my anger at the error earlier, contra my feelings about Seiya the other night.

New ballgame

Morel and Wisdom

i'm not going to lie, I haven't followed the game in over an hour and was just coming back to this thread to read more angry posts.  They actually tied it? lmao.

It's kind of jarring, I'm so used to this team having no life at all after they get behind like this.

In weird, random news that no one asked for, I work with a dude that played with Wesneski in the Yankees organization.
