It's not.  it's a reference to one of the players DJing in college.  But it wouldn't have surprised me if it was that.

It's been going on since before the assassination attempt.

More evidence its an inside job if they knew about it beforehand.

i love that Walls' paltry season stats are displayed on that clip, and that he had to wait like a week to do this celebration because XBHs are such a rare event for him

Yeah, perhaps he should be focusing on his career 73 wRC+ instead. The guys about 100 PAs from being a DFA candidate.

Let the pixie dust begin. McGreevy a guy who was thought highly of when drafted but has been down right not very good in AAA  and FG has as a 35+, of course made his major league debut last night with a

7IP 5H 1ER 1BB 3K performance

and newly acquired league journeyman Tommy Pham is 4/6 with 3R and 6 RBI in his first two games including a grand slam in his first AB. This is the same STL team that has the worst run differential in the division(-35) despite winning their last two games by 8-1 and 10-1 scores. Yet they are 4 over .500.

I hate this thread and the coincidence of the trend of the teams mentioned since its start date.  That said, the Cardinals next 25 game stretch is brutal.  After a  3-game set in Cincy, they play:

-Dodgers

-Brewers

-@ Twins

-Padres (4 games)

-@ Yankees

-@ Brewers

-Mariners

Good luck with that. If they are still in playoff contention after that stretch, they they certainly deserve it. Hope they fail miserably.

The Cards and young outfielders, yeesh.

I don't know if this ever got confirmed but wasnt the rumor-ing at the time that the reason the Cards didn't get Soto because they weren't willing to include Carlson in the trade?

Yes, I remember cards were unwilling to make the deal. Felt Carlson should  be untouchable.

Their player development structure is just hot garbage right now.  I've heard rumblings that they have a lot fewer coaches at all levels than just about any other franchise and it feels like that's really showing these days.

This would've been the Nationals -> San Diego deadline and not this past offseason, but I believe I've heard that?

Also Carlson has a 117 wRC+ and has the highest average EV of his career in Tampa.

What's the story behind why it was 'necessary' for the Cardinals to trade Carlson?

I'm not aware of any major drama, so I think it was general "he could use a change of scenery" stuff.  Not great.

Declining performance at the plate and having a tweener profile in a group that had a number of other OF options.  He's not exactly a CF and even at his best was a slight stretch offensively in a corner, so the roster math always pointed towards finding a true CF and/or giving opportunities to the O'Neills, Walkers, and currently Burlesons of the world.

They had been playing Michael Siani over him in CF until he got hurt and he had this season line, so I think that tells most of the story.
