Just turned it on. Was Shota as dominant as the numbers suggest?

Yes, If not more so. Something like 20 swings and misses.

Yeah, mostly. Charlie Blackmon had 2 really good swings, either may have have gone on warmer days. But outside of that, Shota dominated the Rockies.

I mean...maybe. But it's like...4 games into the season. The Cubs have shown:

1. They really like Busch, they traded Ferris for him, a highly regarded prospect, and Hope, who they paid over 11th round value for in the draft

2. They don't really like Mervis. They've replaced him and skipped over him again and again.

3. Busch's processes have looked really good.

4. It's four games, man.

So yeah, like, maybe? But also, probably not. There's really no reason to even bring it up yet. It's April 1st.

Lmao, again didn't say anything about dumping Busch  😅

If Nico wants to hit for any power he's going to have to keep that front foot planted. He's got a weird little hop at the end of his swing.

Better send him to Triple-A.

Is it May and is he still struggling?

That what I said..

But go ahead and make horsefeathers up

Didn't say I didn't like him, I actually agreed and said yes.

Just part of me thinks they might give Mervis another look at some point this season if Busch struggle continues into May, they might consider sending him down til he gets his swing going.

Did I say anything negative about Busch ?

No, I just said we might see Mervis again  later in season and then I said we might see him get another opportunity and especially IF Busch is struggling come May..

Big  Big difference there

You're clearing saying that the Cubs may send Busch to Iowa, and recall Mervis. What do you think these two posts are saying? I mean, yeah, if Busch is just horsefeathers terrible and Mervis is amazing, maybe. The Cubs might also send Christopher Morel to Triple-A if he's terrible. Or Miguel Amaya. That's really unlikely, but they both have options. What's the point?

Not really. It is you moving the goal post on your original comment. Suggesting you have a feeling we would see Mervis again in response to someone who said they hope Busch can hit is absolutely commenting negatively towards Busch. And you made the statement after 4 games in which he actually has shown good plate disapline and hit the ball hard.

Amaury Telemaco??

I actually got to see one of his starts in 1996 against the Marlins.  Cubs lost 3-1 or 3-2.  Sosa hit his 40th homer and then I think broke his hand the next day.  That was the first Cubs game I ever got to see in person.

Lol, yea that what I said..

Guy post that he hopes Busch can get going, I said yes as in me too, but added that I think we may see Mervis again later in the season.

Another poster wanted to compare what I had said to him about him wanting to dump Morel now from 3B as it being only 3 games in to being the same thing as what I had posted saying above.

I responded with that it was not even close to being the same but yea IF Busch was struggling come MAY we might see Mervis return and Busch sent to Iowa to work on things..

So, No I didn't clearly say to send Busch to Iowa now and bring Mervis up now, like he was saying to take Morel off of 3B now.

I'm done..lol

I clearly said yes to his comment and then said I have a feeling we will see Mervis later this season.

That was my original comment to him...

Honestly, whatever you say. You are the best at spinning your comments. And since I am the other poster suggesting Morel will most likely end up at DH, I will own that comment. Unlike you! I will also add I was one of Morel’s biggest supporters of playing 3rd. I will still say it is far more likely Morel becomes a semi regular DH this year than it is we will see Mervis again. My comment is based on the first 3 games this year and spring training. I would love if he could play it. But right now he can’t. And for him to play 3rd so Tauchman can be in the line up over Wisdom or Madrigal isn’t really helping the team. If they had a big bat who had to DH, I can see them sticking with Morel longer. And I realize they will stick with him longer. But using your words, I have a feeling we will see a lot of Morel at DH, before seeing Mercis (barring injuries)

The Cubs aren't going to drop Michael Busch to Iowa in a month and bring up Matt Mervis. It's like a 10% outcome. Sure it "may" happen. Lots of things "may" happen. But the Cubs didn't trade who they did to send him back in a month to "work on his swing" or whatever. They're clearly invested more than that. Especially when he's put forth really nice processes right now. He looks like he belongs.

Sometimes there's just no reason to say silly things. This was one of those silly things. Which shouldn't discourage you from posting...but when you say silly things, you're going to be questioned heavily for it.
