Yeah I think it’s 80% likely Fields is traded and they draft a QB at 1oA

Im not sure that makes the Bears OC job so alienating. It can be super promising, actually, if you do a good job. And hell, if you’re successful, and the team still sucks, you can be the next HC! Why not?

Ah yes, the predictable half measure that will inevitably backfire.  God I hate this team so much.

If it's any consolation the full measure would inevitably fail too.  You just haven't dug deep enough into your fatalism yet

Where do Belichick and McDaniels team up next?

I would not be a bit surprised if Belichick's next gig is with Fox, CBS, NBC, or ESPN. or there is no next job He's 71.

When I'm 71 I hope to be fishing and hunting as long as my body will let me.

I was thinking the same thing.  He's surely a brilliant football mind, but I can't imagine anyone that I'd be less enthusiastic about seeing on an NFL pregame/halftime/etc show.

i for one look forward to his Roy Kent studio commentary contributions

When he can talk about pricinples of the game or strategic concepts he's pretty fun to listen to. He's famous for talking about the origin of the long snapper in a press conference, but if you ask him about why his team screwed up he won't take the bait.

What a crazy start to the year for football. Belichick, Saban, Carroll, Brian Ferentz.

It really is like a whole era of football is passing a new one is being born.

I started paying attention to football in the early 2000s, so those names are all titans in my eyes. Except Brian Ferentz.

The man has the personality of a wet sponge, I'm not sure TV is in his, or the audience's, best interest.

He wants to break the all time coaching wins record and is like 15 away. I think he is coaching somewhere next year

Dude is in a no win situation. But hey, Robert Kraft hired a minority and I’m sure he’ll give him ample time to succeed, amirite?

I saw a rumor that he has one year left on his deal and the ascension clause didn't extend it at all. So yeeaaa. I don't see how he doesn't get even a token extension by training camp. Maybe they'll wait for the GM hire to formalize something?
