I doubt they rest any of their big bats in this series.  Matt Olson has played every single game this year including both games of the doubleheader they had on Sunday.  Acuna and Albies have played every game that they've been healthy enough to play.  At other positions they have depth pieces that are almost as good as their starters.

Maybe that changes if they clinch but I think the earliest they can clinch is after tomorrow's game and that would involve the Cubs losing the first 2.

I did. And I did misunderstand you originally. That said, I am not sure Steele still isn’t their best option if he happens to put 2 on in the 6th. A lot depends on the contact made by the hit he gives up, who is up, and if he has labored up until then. I don’t think it is as easy as “take him out” if he happens to get in a jam in the 6th. If we had a working pen like we did in early August (Fulmer, Lieter, Merryweather and Alzolay) I can see going to the pen. But if going to the pen now means going to Cuas, Palencia, Smyly, etc…. I am not sure Steele should be allowed to clean his mess.

Braves might still want to clinch HFA over the Orioles even if they clinch over the Dodgers. Maybe we’ll see a somewhat rest lineup Thursday.

The Candelario bit is really not telling us anything insightful, but pretty clear that Adbert wouldn't be back until maybe Saturday or Sunday?  

Probably just holding Candelario out as long as possible cause Mastrobuoni is red hot now, so there no reason to activate him now, maybe they'll do it Thursday or definitely by Friday so he can get a few AB before the postseason
