Yankees still up 7-4 over Marlins in 7th

Reds up 6-0 now

Phillies up big too but they are so far away at this point unfortunately

Brewers tied 2-2 with the White Sox

For me,  I wait until September until I fully scoreboard watch.

Right now I just watch what the Brewers and Reds are doing, I want the division, ill take it but a WC spot don't excite me much.

Marlins lose, Cubs back to a tie WC3. Looking like the night will end with the Cubs percentage points ahead of the Reds and 1/2 game up on the Marlins. (And hopefully 1.5 GB the Brewers)

Like using Alzolay here.  2 days off before this, an off day coming on Monday and Thursday.

Okay, was just coming to say the opposite, but that’s a couple good points.

wins are good

Yes of course I'd prefer the division but there's really not *that* much difference to me assuming the Central winner is the 3rd seed.  Yes the WC round is played at home which is a benefit, but HFA doesnt seem that big to me, especially in a place like Milwaukee which is close enough to draw plenty of Cubs fans and a familiar overall ballpark.  Also the Cubs are something like 1-7 in their last 8 playoff games at Wrigley.  Not that it has much to do with how this years team would do, but its not such a giant advantage that I'd say the WC spot excites me any less.  Just make the playoffs and win as many games as you can.

Win the division and you avoid Atlanta in the NLDS if you win the WC round. Of course LA is hot and is only 4.5 back of Atlanta so that might not matter anyway.

Winning the division also looks a lot better to FAs, I would think.

The #6 seed also avoids Atlanta.  However,  wouldn't it be better to play them in a best of 5 rather than a best of 7 NLCS?

I’m with you. Get in. Doesn’t matter if it is WC or division. For those who want the division, let me ask this question. If game 162 has the Cubs and Brewers tied for the division and both are in no matter what happens that game, would you start Steele or  Stroman in that game or keep them for game 1 and 2 of the playoffs?  This is assuming both are pitching well.  For me, I wouldn’t pitch either. And I would be surprised if the Brewers started Burnes that gane as well. I think both teams would be fine just getting in.

I think FA's base who they are going to sign with on who offers them the best contract.  Winning is secondary.

Bellinger always looks slightly baked in interviews.

Also on the field, in the dugout and any time he is on camera for any reason

Absolutely, it's money first. But if a team that has sucked is offering 5/125 and a team that won its division the year before is offering 5/100, they might at least let the contender negotiate a bit more. If the offers are reversed, the non-contender gets a flat no.
