7/9 today. Got a right answer with one of the journeyman pitchers, but struck out with the other two. Ended up missing on TB/HOU and PHI/HOU (I'm sure there's some obvious answers I missed there)

I'm going to punch whoever told me about this game. My brain just doesn't work well enough anymore so I start each day feeling mad because I can't even think of names to guess half the time.

Missed a guess on the Houston Cy Young but I had nothing for the Tampa/Houston box anyway so 8/9 was as good as it was going to get anyway.

Is the rarity score better if it's high or low?  I haven't been paying attention.  I have to assume low is better and they just add up the totals of the % of each guess.

I got 7/9 today, missed TB/LA. I would have bet my life that

Spoiler

Jose Canseco

played for Tampa Bay but apparently not.

ETA: Apparently he didn't play for LA.

It's better if it's low. I think it adds up all your percentages

Fuckin hell, I could've used

Octavio Dotel and Edwin Jackson

to get 9/9

Funnily enough, this is exactly what I did. They were the last 2 squares I filled today.

8/9. I couldn't think of anyone for Col/Det and Det/Barves, so I guess

Spoiler

Edwin

for both and was right for one.

All three Cardinals ones were easy and pretty obvious. So we’re the 40HR ones. Guessed Maybin for Det-Atl and David Justice for NYY-Atl. Couldn’t get Det-Col though.

After I saw I had to match the Yankees and the Braves, all I could think of to match was Run the Jewels and it took me way too long to move my mind past that.

Meh, only 6 out of 9. My A's 20+ winner could have been in OAK/SF, but I couldn't think of alternatives. Again, one of the multi-team dudes would have worked in a few squares, just used the wrong dude in the wrong square.

p.s. I've been wanting to use my center square dude for awhile, glad to get him in there

Got my first 9/9 with a guess at the A's 20 Game winner.

Spoiler

Turns out you can use any of their big 3 of the early 2000's. I used Zito for the Oak/SF one, but Mulder and Hudson also won 20 games in that stretch.

Grid:

Rich Hill/Joey Bautista/Clemente

Zito/Belt/Bonds

Hudson/Halladay/Koufax

9/9 today too

Spoiler

Jason Kendall/Jose Bautista/Roberto Clemente

Barry Zito/Joe Carter/Buster Posey

Tim Hudson/Roy Halladay/Justin Verlander

You could not have given me a worse combo of teams than today's grid. I have 1 so far (lol)

EDIT: Oof, 4/9, and that was making some big guesses. 3 out of my 4 correct answers were 6%, 2% and .6%, so at least I was making some deep cuts

7/9

Spoiler

Couldn't get anyone for the Rangers SB (although I could've used Soriano) or for Was/Mil. Completely guessed on KC and MIL SB and was right

Michael A Taylor/Hosmer/Merrifield

Soriano/Profar/blank (I guessed DeShields, but it was his son who played for Tex and had 29 SB in one year)

blank/Hader/Yelich

I'm terrible at stolen base guys.

Same. Or there are historically fast guys like Vince Coleman who I have no idea who they played for
