I had 6 then when I was typing my Arizona/Colorado name I accidentally clicked the wrong person, so that kind of killed my motivation to dig deep. I came up with an answer for Arizona/Pittsburgh (that unbeknownst to me actually would've worked for Arizona/Colorado too) after I ran out of guesses.

7 out of 9. I also used Bonds wrong but remembered Cutch. The Colorado ones I just couldn't think of outside of Dex for Houston. I also screwed up and went with Juan Gonzalez when I meant Luis.

Well done, Derwood.

Before anyone else gets hosed by it, the players have to have won a Gold Glove with the team listed. I tried to cheat with Jason Heyward and the game called me on it.

Went 9/9 and with a 0.8%, 0.3%, and a 0.01%.

I think that's probably the best I'll ever do. Debating early retirement from this game...

It was Terry Mulholland. Which was surprising - I'd think journeyman relievers who pitched forever would be something people playing this game would key in on. Octavio Dotel might be useful in any team/team box.

That said, getting him was sort of a cheat. I was already typing Terry Pendleton in the box above him, and it suggested him as an option. Which is why I remembered him.

Today was brutal (5/9). Apparently there are a lot of HoF Cincinnati Reds who did not have 200 hit seasons

Did you not immediately go to the Red known for getting lots of hits?

I can sympathize though, my first guess was Oakland/200 H and it was wrong, and then even though I don't feel too bad missing BAL/STL and BAL/CWS, I'm kicking myself for not remembering the more obvious CIN/STL answer.

No, I tried

I immediately went for the A's / Cardinals player I had heckled most recently, and that was Randal Grichuk. The only problem is, I confused him for the other "better than Kris Bryant" powerhouse from that era, Stephen Piscotty.

Today is the best I’ve ever done - 8 out of 9.  For some dumb reason, Carney Lansford came to mind first for the A’s and 200 hits. So I was down to 8 guesses right out of the gate. Rebounded with Miggy as pick two, and then got the next 7 in a row. Had a 0.02% for one square.  Never had a chance to get the Reds/Cards box as my guesses were up.

Spoiler

Sutcliffe, Stone Ripken

Blank, Griffey, Jr., Rose

McGwire, Sweeney, Tejeda

If we weren't all so dumb, there was a 9/9 solution with pretty high profile players

Spoiler

1 - Matt Wieters

2 - Harold Baines

3 - Cal Ripken Jr

4 - Scott Rolen

5 - Ken Griffey Jr

6 - Pete Rose

7 - Mark McGwire

8 - Frank Thomas

9 - Miguel Tejada

I got 5/9 really fast and eventually remembered a Bos/Mil guy.

I got 0/3 for the Twins. Looked after and blanked on an somewhat obvious if you remember the mid 2000s choice for Twins closer.

I got to 7, took a stab at Brooks Kieschnick on a Brewers square I was stuck on for some reason, and that was the end of that.
