CLE and STL 300 game winners was harder than I was expecting.  Thankfully I remembered from previous grids that none of Sabathia, Feller or Gibson got to 300 wins.  Remembered Phil Niekro had a spell in Cleveland and took a wild guess that Cy Young played for the Cardinals.

Gibson was a miss for me.

I feel like I've used Albert Belle 3 or 4 times now

I only got 6 today in part because of Bob Gibson and I also missed a stupidly obvious player that would've fit into 2 of the Royals boxes

I keep forgetting how many teams that player has played for

I'm at 8/9 this morning and am refusing to wildly guess on my last box (LAA/CHW). There's a name tickling my brain but I don't think it's right

I had like 4 guesses, and none of them were right

I got way too cute and thought Henry Rodriguez hit 40 homers in 98. Missing that kinda killed my motivation to go hard on the rest of the grid.

9/9

Took me a bit to remember the name of the crappy shortstop that played for the Cubs and Angels.

Spoiler

Renfroe/Price/Ortiz

Simmons/Javy/Sosa

Quintana/Mags/Thomas

lmao once again the 2 white sox/team squares are the lowest % correct for the day.

Mine today:

Spoiler

McHorseTeeth/Porcello/Yaz

Seal Boy/Candelario/DLee

Bartolo Colon/Tony Phillips/Belle

Today was a disaster. Had a major brain fart right out of the gate, a couple of educated but wrong guesses, then next thing I know I'm out of guesses. Disaster

Today's was relatively easy for me. I almost screwed myself by putting an obvious choice for one square into another that had easier alternatives, but luckily was able to make up for it. Set a new personal best rarity score too.

I was 7/7 before blowing it at the end. I had the right last name for one of the two misses, but wrong first name

There was also a player that I had in mind that I didn't guess but would have worked in EITHER of my missed squares:

Spoiler

J.A. Happ

I didn't fill the grid today but I pulled Tom Gordon out of my butt for NYY/PHI so that was fun.

Finally got my first immaculate grid! Only one was a true guess. Was stuck on A’s-Rays when I had an aha moment. Never got more than 7/9 before. I’m way too excited about this. Lol.

This was one of the easier ones for me.  Immaculate and my lowest rarity score at 112.

Spoiler

Kiermaier/Kazmir/Longoria

Winfield/Steinbach/Hrbek

Carter/Canseco/Vlad Jr.

I feel like I know even fewer Twins than I do A's. I have 7/7 with the two Twins squares remaining. I'm surely missing someone obvious, but I literally can't think of more than three or four Twins right now

7/9 today, I don't know anything at all about the Twins. What I've seen from the 'most popular' squares when I miss indicates to me that I've pretty much memory-holed a ton of baseball since about 2018.

Yep, I'm sitting here going "well, Joe Mauer and Johan Santana were a thing....uh....Kirby Puckett.....uh......"

After seeing who could have been in those two boxes, I don't feel bad about missing them. That was tough.

I did get a nice sub 1% on the bottom right corner

got a rarity score of 35 today mostly due to baseball card collecting in the 90s, Early 2000s fantasy baseball, and most people not using old players for the statistical categories

Spoiler

Steve Pearce/Canseco/McGriff

Jack Morris/Shannon Stewart/Frank Viola

Shawn Green/Reggie Jackson/Willie McCovey

I had thoughts about both

Jack Morris and Paul Molitor

but guessed neither. Why am I like this?

A rare good day for me and got 8 of 9. Couldn’t think of a Rays/Jays player. Pulled

Spoiler

Canseco for TB/Oak, Sonny Gray for Oak/Min and Donaldson for Min/Tor.
