A local reporter for SNY (Andy Martino) just tweeted that the Mets apparently are now “very frustrated” and considering walking away.

Apologies for being technologically incompetent and not embedding the tweet here.

I also saw that the Twins are the team that Correa's team is reportedly talking to

Unreal

"pending physical"...so it's just like the other contracts at this time.

Yes…but

The expectations of that physical are very different given that,

A. He’s been with the Twins and their doctors have some familiarity here,

B. Everyone now knows there’s a problem

C. The numbers are very different than they were with the other two deals.

Assume this iteration of the Correa deal goes through. Knowing what we know now about his injury red flags and where everyone's prices ended up exactly, which of the 4 shortstops would you have liked the Cubs to end up with? For me it goes:

Turner

Correa

Swanson

Bogaerts

Correa at 6/$200 is a really good deal.

not interested in the other two - prior to Correa's physicals. Just feel he's not quite as good as advertised and the contract would end up being problem. Feel Bogaerts is on the way down. Turner's elite speed was the draw for me. Swanson I felt was the safest in that you wouldn't have to overpay as much as the others. Obviously time will reveal all.

Need to change the title for the 2nd time. He's been offered almost a billion dollars in contracts, lol. This is a good deal for the Twins if he can stay healthy.

Probably. Depends how bad that ankle is. If he never tops 140 games and misses one entire season in the first half of the deal…maybe not.

We'll see, said the Zen Master.
