15 of the last 16 National Champions are located within about a 300 mile radius of each other in the southeast:

Alabama x6

Clemson x2

LSU x2

Florida x2

Auburn

Florida State

Georgia

Only exception is Ohio State in 2014

The plantation changed form, but that is changing now.

Georgia got lucky with the Metchie and Williams injuries but that’s a part of the game. They won’t care about that one bit.

Like you said, that’s the game.

This was a fun game to watch and not just because I’m happy Bama didn’t win. I didn’t think I’d be investing my entire evening into it but it was worthwhile.

Yep. Not an amazing game like those couple Bama-Clemson games when Watson was there or even the first Bama-Georgia game. But the game wasn’t over until there was less than a minute left.

Loved watching this game. I'll still take a future of QB duels going forward, but was so fun watching the linebackers from each team just get everything in the backfield while the safeties and DBs held down the secondary.

Yeah, I love watching defenses cause chaos and there was a lot of that. Scoring wise obviously it wasn’t all that exciting especially in the first half. But I came away from this game thinking there are future NFL defensive studs on both teams.

I worded that post poorly and didn’t mean to make it sound like I didn’t enjoy the game. I just meant I didn’t think it was an instant classic like the other couple. But still a really fun game to watch.

Regardless of whatever bets I had, I was getting pretty excited for Bama to get down to the red zone, figure out a way to punch it in and set up a massive 2 pt conversion and then either Georgia ball or OT. So the TAINT made for a pretty anticlimactic last minute of game time (which felt like 15 minutes of real time). But the most dominant defense in the country sealing the win with a pick 6 is pretty cool.

I definitely had a couple “boy this is really going to hurt when Georgia blows this” thoughts on that last drive.

LSU fans being LSU fans, already trying to talk trash about how “cool” this is.

Nothing says “old white guy” quite like someone who doesn’t know what to do, so he does some semblance of the Bat Dance.

FTR… I’m an old white guy. I oughta know.

So who wants to speculate about Michigan's next coach and how screwed they are in their immediate future?

There's some Matt Rhule smoke out there. That would probably be the safest move. (I actually still like Rhule, or at least want to like him, but that would also kinda solve a problem for my pro team.) Beyond him it's a big question mark.

Fun fact (not really) but Matt Rhule was a year behind me in high school and I don't remember him even a little bit.

I would bet Gattis given how late it is in the process. Personally, I think Hart is the best long term option.

Campbell is probably the best of dream scenarios, although I can't see him leaving similar to Fleck or Stoops also likely staying put.

Can I just rant about Michigan fans being upset Harbaugh is leaving? 97% of you guys wanted him gone at this time last yr

But to answer your question, I think Bill O Brien would be a great get at this point. I am sure he would keep most of the current coaching staff, be able to land a decent DC if they don't promote within, and have a good enough reputation to keep current recruits and players in place.

Edit I am drinking and reading some other stuff on the webs. I think a real out of the box bold move would be Brian Flores

I don’t think it was anywhere near 97%. It was maybe half the fan base, though a very vocal section.

Also the Dolphins owner Ross is a gigantic Michigan booster and has given hundreds of millions to the university. I’m not sure how he’d feel about Michigan hiring Flores lol.

Auburn is a dumpster fire right now. Harsin must be a real swell guy.

Also, the athletic program lost $6M last year.

Yeah, I read where between graduation and the portal, they have lost TEN defensive lineman since the end of the season. The only downside of this is that all the Gus fanboys will be screaming about him being dismissed.

As for the money loss, tons of programs lost money last year. Even LSU lost millions.
