He's only been recently stretched out, so he'll only go 3-4 innings. But he's apparently been sitting upper 90's throughout his appearances and was hitting 101 on the regular when he was still doing 1 inning stints. I don't expect a long term starter but he might be really fun in some sort of hybrid once through the order role (kinda like Keegan Thompson has held since he's come up).

Hopefully this is the start of them trying to do opener stuff until they make some sort of trade(s). They have enough options to have 1-2 spots in the rotation just let 1-2 guys go all out for 2-4 innings.

Given this appears to be one of the most lopsided pitching match ups we've seen this year, I'm fairly confident the Cubs romp in a blow out

I still remember back in 2005 there was a Sergio Mitre/Roy Halladay matchup when Halladay was at the peak of his abilities and I believe the Cubs won 1-0. Last week Jake beat Yu Darvish. Neither of those matchups are as lopsided as this one but you never know. Cubs did win both times they faced deGrom in 2019 after all!

Hopefully he's going back down to learn how to pitch better.

He’s almost 32 and the only reason he’s in the league is high velocity.

CubinNY just likes to post for the sake of posting. Completely worthless addition to the thread.

We sold low on Stock

The Cubs announced a trio of roster moves this morning, including the news that left-hander Kyle Ryan’s contract has been selected from Triple-A. To create roster space for Ryan, righty Cory Abbott was optioned to Triple-A and right-hander Robert Stock was designated for assignment.
