This is an odd postponement. You know MLB is eyeing a potential prime time spot Saturday night.

it's not that odd. it's an elimination game and there's about a 50/50 chance of showers for the next 9 hours. it would be shitty to have to play that game (especially with darvish) in a win or go home game.

and if they wanted us in prime-time that badly, why are we the last resort for tomorrow's night slot?

MLB also lives in constant fear of football being on at the same time as their playoffs.

all the changes say they'll be primetime friday if no other games are scheduled, so maybe disney requested the postponement as a make good from a disastrous season.

Now if we actually move on, we don’t have the option of starting Yu in Game 1 to potentially come back and pitch a Game 5. Not that Ross would do that anyway.

Yes but hypothetically Saturday is Kyle's bullpen day if we need to give him 20 pitches. That would put our rotation in disarray and have someone like Mills or Quintana starting game 1, but most likely everyone is pitching once in a 5 game series with no off days anyways.

If that's Kyle's bullpen day anyway then Ross would be stupid not to toss Kyle out there for 20 pitches and as I typed that I realized we may be doomed

Won’t one of Mills/Q/Adbert have to start DS Game 1 anyways with the off days? Thought there’s only 1 day off in between series (so they start Sunday?) Hendricks would be on short rest then.

so it turns out you should just start your dominant ace in the first game of a long postseason? wild

Not exactly the same thing, but in a similar boat - I want to point out that Carlos Zambrano is still ready to pitch Game 4 against the DBacks.

I thought the LDS started on Tuesday or Wednesday. They need a few days to get to the bubble and get tested before playing.

Edit: NLDS starts Tuesday, goes until Saturday.

College football is a thing so not sure what they're looking for

Got it. Don’t know why I thought there was just a single off day before, must have misheard or misunderstood something and also why I didn’t really care about the Yu/Kyle order because both were starting this round regardless and I thought with days off they’d only get 1 DS start anyways on normal rest.

Sucks with the postponement today Yu can’t go Game 1 now and potentially get two starts because I’d want him getting 2 starts over Hendricks if we aren’t in Wrigley.

if the cubs lose, i'm definitely rooting for the marlins to win the world series. it would be the most embarrassing outcome for mlb and would really highlight how stupid this season (and the 16 team playoff) was/is

I can only get on board with this if they beat both the Dodgers and then the Astros in the process

A's sweeping Astros would be better.
