Is there even really a wait list at this point? I can't imagine the fanbase is clamoring to hand over thousands of dollars to this dumpster fire of a franchise.

FML. Season ticket money is due tomorrow and I'm already stretching myself thin. Fiancee and I got approved for a new apartment we're moving into in April and they're demanding rent ASAP for the first month. So we got rent where we're at now, Rent at place we're not, and Cubs tickets. So long Cubs tickets.

Anyone here dying to be a half-season STH temporarily? I can transfer ownership temporarily for the 2022 season. If you want to jump the line, let me know.

I got off the waiting list after a 9 year wait. This will be my first season as a season ticket holder. I'm not going to be able to use all my tickets, so message me if you're interested.

Even if it's a financial loss, I would prefer for the tickets to be used rather than have the seats vacant. If anyone out there lives in or near Wrigleyville with the ability to go to games on short notice, please reach out. If it gets to be first pitch and the tickets would go unused, I'd like to have contact information to get the tickets to someone who could use them.

Expect it to be a financial loss because it will be even if they make the playoffs.

Anything short of going to the World Series will be a financial loss, with the amounts varying from year to year. Anyone signing up to buy season tickets should go into it with that understanding, and know that the returns are only getting worse. I think a lot of people don't really understand what they are getting into. Reselling tickets is difficult and many games are almost impossible to offload. I still have all but 2 of the April games left unsold, even at steeply discounted asking prices. Enthusiasm is definitely way down, and I don't see that turning around anytime soon.

My tickets are decent enough (for me), but not ultra-premium (e.g., behind home plate or right behind the dugout, etc.). So I'm probably losing money this season...was just looking for contact info in case anyone lives nearby the stadium and could get some use out of the tickets...

However, I am curious...those kind of ultra-premium seats are for a class of people that I don't belong to...I've never had those kind of seats for an MLB game. It's kind of irrelevant because it's a high stakes game that I'm not playing, but is the demand more constant, entertaining corporate clients and such? Or are you taking an even bigger bath on a financial loss if you've got those kind of seats and aren't attending the games yourself?

Buyer's remorse, I probably should have not gotten season tix and just ponied up for a few games with really good seats...

In general, I think the more you spend, the more you are probably going to lose. And in the really good years, I knew people with much worse seats than mine who were able to sell their tickets for almost the same price that I was selling mine for. There is more room for profit on the cheaper seats and less risk of big losses. But it comes down to what you want your tickets for - Is it all about maximizing gains/minimizing losses, or do you want to be able to enjoy your seat? I tried to strike a balance between the two. If you go into it with the intent of going to a lot of games and enjoying your seats, then you will be fine.

Hi, it's been a minute or years since I've poked my head around the NSBB boards. I'm not sure who all still is in the city let alone near the federal landmark but if anyone is interested in 3 free tickets (my season tickets, sec 324R row 2 seats 9-11) I'll happily forward them to you, pending any potential last-minute StubHub purchases before you contact me, and only ask that you consider donating to the site. I do have a number of games claimed, but as the season winds down there will be some games that don't garner much if any interest. Seats themselves are great. Next to the upper deck camera well above first base.

Fans: Stop charging us ridiculous prices to put a middle-of-the-road payroll product on the field!!

PTR: Ok fine....

Future headline: 'Tom Ricketts says, 'Reduced season ticket revenue has limited our ability to spend'"

They must really be hemorrhaging Season Ticket holders to reduce prices by 5%. I wonder what the waiting list looks like now? I would guess there is a huge amount of churn with waitlisters buying tickets and then not renewing for a 2nd season after they realize how difficult the resale market is.

I mean, I jumped nearly 38,000 spots in two years. And when I was offered last year I believe, for the first time ever, they offered half-season ticket packages but even those, for the cheapest seats I could find, was nearly $4,000 for two tickets. Honestly, 5% is horsefeathering nothing. That's half the tax. Whooptie horsefeathering doo.

Bleachers were available in a nights & weekend package but I believe that was it. Everything else full season in the past.

I believe that changed a few years ago. A buddy of mine got nights and weekend seats prior to the 2021 season.

Two years after turning them down and being told I’d go to the back of the line, I’m back on top. No thanks cubs

Back to the end of the line you go!

P.S. That is also the front of the line.

Giving up my Tix after a few years was one of the best things I've done for my mental and financial health.

It's a lot, that's for sure.  This is my 11th season and I plan to continue for as long as I can, but I certainly wouldn't call it a wise financial investment.  I enjoy having my seats whenever I want them and the idea of guaranteed playoff tickets when applicable, but I could definitely save money by just buying tickets to whatever games I wanted to go to.  All things considered, I'm able to keep the Season Ticket expenses somewhat reasonable by reselling a large number of tickets (typically at a loss) to the games I don't attend.  It's a lot to keep up with though, managing all the ticket inventory and sales just for the sake of treading water at best.  It is much different than the idyllic dream of Season Ticket ownership that I once had.  I keep telling myself, "Next year I'm going to go to a lot more games," but it's a lot easier to say that than to actually do it!

No doubt! Good for you for hanging in there. Those April/May pirates games that listed at $20-25 (from the bleachers) were sunk costs for me. No one wanted them and I didn't want to go. Couldn't give em away for free. So wasteful

Meanwhile, my buddy is grandfathered into the nights and weekends in the bleachers and fuuuuck him. Such a steal.

Had a pair of bleacher tickets from 2017-2021 (good timing huh). Gave them up, didn't really get any pressure to renew. Just got an email from the Cubs offering access to half the Cubs post season games in exchange for a non-refundable deposit of $1000 to a full season or a half season plan next year. Showing how long that line really is. Exact details below:

  • Place a $1,000 nonrefundable deposit toward a 2024 Full or Half-Season Plan and receive access to purchase half of the potential 2023 postseason games played at Wrigley Field (alternating games Wild Card Series through World Series).
  • By placing a deposit, you will have the opportunity to purchase up to two (2) seats for your postseason games.

I have enjoyed my experience. Been a full season STH since 2013. 200 section in the infield. Great view of the park and protection from the elements. After 13 and 14 I have never lost money. I have a good group of people who buy from me, I used to go to around 25-30 games and then the rest I sell on stubhub. When you add your savings on the games you go to versus losing on some sales, I still end up ahead.

I finally gave up my seats this season after 9 years. I kind of miss having them but I just haven't been able to make it to as many games and had a kid last year so I would have needed another seat anyway.  I got that same email today, I was surprised to see that.

You're lucky you still have your core group of people that buy from you. A lot of the people that bought from me moved away from the city and it became too much of a hassle to sell them online.  The ticket prices are so high now that I was having a hard time breaking even.
