I was way more angry about losses in May than I am about this. This is like the most at peace I've ever been after a Cubs loss.

yep, i'm cool with it. pretty clear that they weren't going to do any damage in the playoffs, not with a patchwork bullpen and an offense that disappears for long stretches. hopefully harper is a cub next year and bryant gets healthy and back to playing like kris bryant. addison russell needs to go, don't really care for what.

THe greatest and most telling moment of this season is the Rockies treating Kris Bryant like a pitcher and not walking him with Gore on deck. If Chili Davis isn't fired tonight I'm gonna throw things

Anyone not named Baez, Rizzo, or maybe Bryant should be on the table.

Joe leaving Hendricks in after the first guy got on is in itself a fireable offense.

Yes but, what can one do when you've got to get a shoutout to win? This no hitting in post season [expletive] is growing tiresome, shouldn't be happening as often as it has.

Everyone that is happy that the season is over is a spineless wuss and I want nothing to do with your selfhating nonsense.

What about those who are not happy but relieved?

I don't understand that either, but I can tolerate it.

Thanks. It's fair to not understand it, but I just got really fatigued with this season. I just was not at all enjoying any of this. There were seasons when Sammy was on roids and hitting 60 dongs and we didn't go to the playoffs that were a lot more fun. And that's crazy to say.

I accept being judged for this and also ridiculed. I'm just being honest with how I feel.

Just following gameday so it’s hard to be sure, how bad we’re the umps after the 6th inning?

In no way is this on the umps. If anything the Cubs got the benefit of everything. Unfortunately, the Cubs just fuckin' suck

Davis needs his walking papers like right now. This offense has done nothing but get worse and worse under him. I can't wait to see this team get absolutely roasted by the media, especially Maddon, but he's going to come back as usual with no real answers. Welcome to the hot seat in 2019 Joe.

Something tells me he didn't have much to do with the offense's woes. The Cubs have a bunch of streaky guys prone to periodic slumps who went into the tank at the same time.

I don't think you have to worry about Chili's return. But you should probably throw things anyhow.

they were trying to walk him but he wouldn't let them

Nice, going to get to go to see Miller Park without the stress of being emotionally invested in the Cubs.

I don't want to be a big enough meatball to say the Cubs weren't trying, but man, what an embarrassing funk they've been mired in the last two days.

Two days? Try two months.

Obviously the other things about Russell are infinitely worse, but it also sucks that the pieces we could have traded for pitching have pretty much all lost significant value.

Also, thank you 2016 Cubs.

This times a billion.

Without 2016, tonight would have been agonizing and I would have been steaming for three weeks. But with it? Eh. Get 'em next year.

I think it sucks more that the pieces we could have traded for different bats have pretty much all lost significant value.

I’m more pissed I stayed up this late than anything. that brewers series would have been a bloodbath.

I'm not sure it would have been a bloodbath. Just a bunch of 3-1 and 3-0 losses.

the pitching staff would have been in absolute tatters.

Just and exhausting season. Still had some moments of fun and still was successful in certain ways. Was fun to spend another year on here, just was a crazy few months down the stretch of things not happening the right way. Hopefully the right moves are made in the offseason.

Took some unfortunate and unlikely circumstances (especially the last monthish) to have this team not reach its potential but that’s baseball. When you’re in a spot to make and be in the playoffs every year this happens. I trust the FO to make the right moves and changes.

Imagine taking this (and adding in that this was a 95 win team) and sending it to youself in 2012 or something. I honestly thing a lot of the doom and gloomers here enable each other and make things out to be horrific all the time. Now, September and everything after it was disgusting, but this team is still pretty damn good. I hope we get Harper and non-dumb managers and coaches out of this.
