Elly is on pace for something like 50 HR and 80 SB. There's no reason to bury him in the lineup

I don't disagree, was just saying in his first month last year (June) he put up a .375 wOBA and then the rest of the year it was .284. Maybe they're trying to avoid all the mania, for better or for worse.

Elly is on pace for damn near 50/100 and he threw a ball in the field at 106.9

Holy horsefeathers horsefeathers. Absolute freak.

I am not looking forward to him and Condon or Jac on the same team in the near future.

McClain too.

I feel like it should be a new rule that when an umpire makes a brutal call, the manager is allowed to come out and show the umpire Kyle Schwarber’s reaction on an iPad.

Incredible

While I hate the bad umpiring, I love that it screwed the Cards and the Sox proceeded to take 2 of 3 from them this weekend.

Pirates today made major league history. For the first time ever, two teammates had multi-homer games that included a grand slam

Yikes, what a ****** move.  Everyone knows you DFA them a month earlier like the Cubs did Neris.

If it was a month ago, at least he'd have a chance to catch on somewhere else. No team is going to pick him up with a handful of games left just to give him 4 PAs.

I thought grampa rossy was in line for the reds?

If your options were Ross or Tito the answer is clear.

If you want  manager who will be there for 2/3 of the games, sure.  This is a weird move considering all the health issues Francona has had causing him to miss time.

Brewers have two of their promising young starters on the IL already.  DL Hall has a late strain and just got put on the 60 day IL.  Aaron Ashby strained an oblique and it doesn't sound minor.

If the Brewers end up winning the division, it's most likely IMO to be because they end up getting a hell of a lot more out of guys like Hall, Ashby, and Misiorowski than we get out of our equivalents like Brown/Wicks/Horton.  So it's not the biggest headline, but probably important stuff.

I probably say this every year and it never materializes, but I really like the Reds this year. They have McClain back and their SP is pretty solid. The division is weak.

I'll buy this.

Everyone on the Reds besides Elly and Hunter Greene was really good in one of 2023 or 2024 and really bad (or hurt) in the other.

So it's not hard to see them getting a good dice roll and being quite good, the talent is clearly there, but the most likely scenario is them being a really top heavy 78 win team yet again.
