Derek Shelton has been relieved of his duties with the Pirates.  That franchise is such a shitshow. I feel bad for him.

I also feel bad for the die hard Pirates fans.

21 straight games against teams under .500. We’ve gone 15-4 in the first 19.  I would have been satisfied with 13-6 or 14-5 honestly. 15-4 is great

Pirates 9 game stretch. They became the first team in history to have back to back series of 3+ games that ended in sweeps, which featured them shutting out their opponent in all three games of one sweep and getting shut out themselves in all three games of the other sweep. I included the Mets series in there because it's funny to see a team go from scoring 30 runs in 3 games to 0 in 3 games a week later.

Can I vent in this thread about the Brewers? Which small child did they sacrifice to the Baseball Gods? How did they get to play the longest streak of unbelievably lucky and good baseball in history (don’t care if this is true or not)? Why do they get to fall down 8-1 and effortlessly come back?

the brewers currently hold the largest lead of any division leader right now. It’s so over we don’t even know it’s over. It wasn’t even a fight. It just ended in 3 weeks.

I posted in another thread, but I'll repost here.  Stolen from social media.

Friendly reminder; this was the playoff results from 2017, where the Indians (Guardians) went 102-60 with a 22 game win streak. What the Brewers are doing is impressive, what the Cubs are doing is gut wrenching. But making into the playoffs is what matters, just need to hope this team can get in rhythm at the right time.

I spent decades, DECADES watching the Cardinals do absurd pixie dust nonsense and I don’t think I’ve seen the Cardinals do anything like what the Brewers had foisted upon them by the gods of luck this weekend.

Almost happened again today. They are both lucky and good.

Until the Brewers pull off something like this, they'll never match the Cardinals pixie dust.

Milwaukee just lost Trevor McGill to a flexor strain, presumably for the year.  Their #2 RP, Abner Uribe, has already been one of the hardest ridden pitchers in the league this year.

I don't think it gets us the division, but I do think it does materially impact their chances in the playoffs.
