I'm not sure I can argue with anything Joe did there. Q was going to have a bit shorter leash because of having pitched out of the pen, and he wasn't as sharp in the 5th. It seemed like a good time to get him out of the game. Rondon clearly hasn't been good, but who really has? Someone had to pitch the 6th.

Q was fine. Rondon this year has been crappy. The bullpen has been crappy. Q gave up two hits, one hard hit

I'm not sure why people are ignoring that he uncharacteristically walked 2 hitters in a row.

Q was absolutely done. I don't understand how everyone thinks he wasn't.

He gave up one hard hit ball in the 5th. I get the logic to remove him, but the idea that he had nothing left is silly.

Walked a couple guys also though.

Fair. Counterpoint: RONDON

Q was clearly gassed with the last inning, no problem pulling him. If you want to argue who should’ve came in fine but whatever. Can’t walk 2 horsefeathering bums the inning before in front of Puig is what this game comes down to.

Yeah, he had a couple of close misses on full counts, he hadn't had his command desert him. And he finished the inning by inducing weak contact from the last 2 hitters.

If you want to go to the bullpen there, fine. He threw a couple pitches on Thursday, 3rd time thru the order, 2 runs given up last inning. But giving him a short leash in the 6th would've been fine too.

Because he's done since he just pitched 2 days ago.

12 pitches.

You're watching the game right? He was finished.

Yes. At 89 pitches, one hard hit and two walks that weren't so much wild as they were nibbling on the outside edge, I'll take my chances on another inning from him over trying to squeeze 4 outta this bullpen that's taxed and struggling mightily.

Right, the walks weren't such that I lost faith in him. He was trying to make pitches on the outside edge and missing close.
