Damn...certainly didn't expect this strong of a reaction but I understand it. We lose some elite framing but crappy defense and while his overall numbers look ok i think his OPS since May 1st is in the low .600's.

i believe it; we've been angrier than usual at the umps

 

so much of this is pitcher-influenced it seems too, catching guys with poor command like Jake, Butler, and maybe Monty (also, losing Hendricks) puts you behind the 8-ball for setting a good frame

Well, gotta figure this is about as strong a statement as you could see on Caritini's defense. Unless this is just a move to get Miggy gone as quick as possible and they go out and get a backup catcher fairly quick. But if he's just an occasional catcher/DH/1B type you'd think they wouldn't make this move.

 

Of course those Miggy comments were over the line, so maybe there isn't that much to read here. It'll be fun to see if Vic can stick.
