I'm about done with this Crossroads thing. 3rd straight year of a disastrous blown lead.

Maui looking more and more like a mirage.

The hell is with this IU team. Hang with then #1 Duke, Louisville on the road, @ Seton Hall. Beat #15 ND just 2 days ago. But just lost their 2nd home game by more than 20 points against an in-state team that's not Purdue or Butler.

You can't even call it playing to the level of the competition when you are getting blown out by such teams at home.

Illinois has played terribly tonight, but college basketball officiating is such an awful, awful joke.

They did, cannot put together two good halves, wasn't expecting much from them this season. Probably irrational on my part but, I get the feeling Big Ten teams beyond the upper tier better take advantage and beat them now while they can.

Bonzie Colson having surgery today on his fractured foot and will be out through February. ND still clocked NC State last night (with Matt Farrell also going down in the game, with a sprained ankle), but this is going to be a weird year.

state sucks (at least right now). i think/hope keats will be the answer at coach but this is going to be a long year. i can see them improving with his system as the season goes, but right now it's brutal. they also have their starting PG suspended which doesn't help, but the entire team right now makes me feel like playing basketball is the most awkward thing any of these athletes can do.

another Beilein masterclass

I wanted to go at least 1-1 against Purdue and Sparty. After Tuesday I was hoping they didn’t miss their chance and obviously they didn’t. With the young talent on this team and the incoming recruiting class, I see a top 10 team in the near future

I can't horsefeathering stand North Carolina. 3 key 50/50 calls or no calls in the final minute and they just happen to all go their way. On the road no less.

Was Thad Matta that bad as OSU coach? Who saw this turnaround coming?

Well he took OSU to the tourney in 9 of his 13 seasons, won 5 regular season Big 10 titles, 4 BTT titles and went to 2 Final 4s. So probably not bad but not sure what he did to cause the program to tank his last few years.

The BIG horsefeathering sucks this year and Bates-Diop turning in to arguably the best player in the conference doesn’t hurt.

I clearly meant in recent years (they didn't even get an NIT invite last year). I know Matta's health problems were bad, but his recruiting really fell off near the end

This is insane

https://www.sbnation.com/platform/amp/college-basketball/2018/2/15/17018536/college-basketball-corruption-case-fbi-investigation-fundamentally-alter-sport-report

There are three ongoing criminal investigations, and the results of those investigations are poised to radically impact and alter the sport. The story says:

Up to 50 college basketball programs could be compromised due to this investigation

The NCAA announced the current top 16 teams for the tournament last weekend, and “almost half” have been tied to these investigations, per one of the story’s sources

That means that the NCAA might be forced to vacate the winner of this year’s tournament, an almost unprecedented move, when the investigation’s findings are made public

The investigations are time bombs that will affect “every major conference, Hall of Fame coaches, a score of current top players and some of the nation’s most distinguished and respected programs,” Thamel writes.
