That's so [expletive] weird. As a kid I grew up in Kentucky watching the Cubs on WGN. The two are strangely linked in my emotional nostalgia.

Once upon a time, WGN broadcast 150 Cub games a year. I spent a lot of summers from 1983-1990 tuned in.

Same here and exact same era. I Fell in love with the game of baseball, Wrigley field and the Chicago Cubs in 1984 as a 5 year old. I would come home from school and watch Cubs play day games on WGN. The team, the uniforms, the broadcast, even the spirit of 76 commercials... extremely sentimental. I'm so freaking emotional right now.

I turned 8 that summer. I watched every damn day and knew that team like the back of my hand. I've been all in ever since.

Can't find my post abt Bill Murray. Is actually the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. Still, I think he might have bailed on the award thingy if there had been a Game 7.

BUT THERE WILL BE NO GAME 7!!! :D

I am a cubs fan because my 5th grade teacher in 84 was a huge cubs fan and she plaged the playoff games during math class. Thank you Mrs Walker!

WGN has been the Cubs station for years and they're showing the [expletive] Matrix right now?

Same here. I was in elementary school, and by the time 3:30 time, I hopped on my bike and made a mad dash to home in time to catch the 4th inning or later, depending on the game.

Loved WGN a lot back then. Shame they're now just a has-been.
