  1. Yay for rain! I had a meeting I couldn't get out of and was sad I was going to miss the pregame festivities. I just got home. Perfect timing!
  2. I hope to never see Chapman in a Cubs uniform again.
  3. Baseball is the only sport I am a true fan of. I will use football to take naps on weekends, or watch with friends for big games. Basketball only interests me during March madness. I only watch hockey if my friends are watching. I always go through a slight depression after baseball season is over. Even years where the Cubs have been awful, I still miss it in the off season. Today I have been wandering around thinking I can watch baseball tonight, and the being sad because I remember I can't, and then being happy because the Cubs won it all. It is such a weird mix of emotions I am not used to. I am sure it won't feel so strange after a few years of Cubs domination!
  4. I think the adrenaline has worn off and I can go to sleep now. Can't wait until tomorrow morning when I wake up and remember the Cubs are the champions of the world!
  5. I am a girl scout leader and we have a meeting tonight that doesn't get over until 7:30. I was planning on leaving early, but just found out one of my co-leaders cannot come tonight because she has some church thing so I have to be there the whole time. Some how God is deemed more important than Cubs in game 7. I will be streaming it on my phone during the meeting.
  6. I was super stressed during the NLCS and exuberant when they won. I have been very zen through the world series, which surprised me. Rizzo'so home run tonight was the first time I have cried with the realization that they could actually do this! Go Cubs.
  7. I am a cubs fan because my 5th grade teacher in 84 was a huge cubs fan and she plaged the playoff games during math class. Thank you Mrs Walker!
  8. who was in the speedo in the clubhouse?
  9. I am not going to sleep tonight. I admit PTSD from 2003. I was at game 6, and it was not only seeing the game slip away, but the viciousness of the crowd. Everyone in the stadium chanting "horsefeathers" and me yelling at people to stop, and feeling their wrath turn to me. It was scary and sad. I just want tomorrow night to come, and the Cubs to win so I can have happy associations with a game 6.
  10. After lurking here for over a decade, hiding the game thread finally persuaded me to register. Go Cubs!
