Strand 500 runners, pen blows it. That's like the Cubs teams of the past 100 years. Damn

& 30% of losses in all of baseball history..

4th time through plus their good hitters were coming up. If Kyle gave up a dong, we would have complained that he should have been removed.

Kyle doesn't give up dongs

Career HR/9

Hendricks 0.68

Strop 0.47

ok? all that shows me is Kyle doesn't give up dongs

Like David said earlier, we're still winning this game. Three more innings plus their manager isn't going to burn through relievers either.

The thing I'm most pissed about is this game is going to keep the completely unwarrented dumb [expletive] narrative going that the bullpen is a weakness and needs to be fixed by the idiot talking heads and meatball fans.

The thing is, there will always be a narrative about something that is annoying. And when that does better for a while and something else is slumping, THAT will be the narrative.

why couldn't Kyle go 1 more out? I know he was just north of 100 pitches, but he'd been cruising since the 1st.

North of 100 pitches, just gave up a baserunner (so pitching from the stretch), and the Padres best hitter due up who hadn't done poorly against Hendricks(1 for 3, no Ks). I like going to Strop there, I might have gone to a LHP for Wallace when it was clear Strop didn't have it, but that requires planning against Strop not getting either of the RHP out, and there's also still 11 more innings of baseball to play at least, so I get leaving him in.

Yeah, it's probably more second guessing the result, but I did like leaving Hendricks in, because he was really in tune. The ground ball to Baez ends the inning if he gets to his feet quicker. The bunt base hit was not a sign Hendricks was tiring or looking like he was in trouble. With the bullpen very taxed, I was hoping to see Hendricks get out of the inning. Does Hendricks really get charged for that last run? Baez threw the ball away, so it should have been unearned, or so I thought.

nah, reality has little to do with the narrative.

maybe we're just destined to own the good teams and struggle against the padres and the Rockies of the world

We still get to destroy the Reds though, right? I need that. Don't take that from me.

It's really the best possible scenario around here...that way, there's reason to complain after every run scored against us.

I would have liked to go 10 games up on the Pirates.

Just have to do it in front of their stupid faces, I guess
