So with Quintana his curve is busted, and with Yu it's what, his slider? I thought I saw something similar discussed/posted here, that specifically what was off with Yu is he is either not going to his slider as much or it's being hit more this year than in the past.

I posted the Yu thing somewhere in here. I think it’s that his slider is just a completely different pitch so far. He’s throwing it way harder (like 88 vs 83) and not commanding it/hitting different parts of the zone he’s ever hit and it’s getting hit hard or he’s walking the world with it. The movement I think was still okay.

Edit, here’s the article. Think it comes down to guys gotta stop being idiots and walking everyone and get more in the zone. But who knows what they might be working on, scouting reports, just poor performance or health.

Top 3 for us without looking has gotta be KB. Javy, and the third one I would honestly guess Schwarber.

Time to go check.

Edit: from what I see, replace Javy with Willson and you have your 1-2-3.

Still, our position player depth is silly.

That is stunning as it pertains to the Rockies.

Despite playing 18 of their games in Coors, they're 13th in the League in runs per game. That's raw, without taking park factors into account at all. Their team OPS+ is 80.

Yeah they suck. Their position players had a historically low wRC+ going in to the series in Wrigley a week or whatever ago. I don’t think much has changed since.

It is surprising that they are that bad at hitting, and doubly so that they have managed a winning record while doing so.

Does anyone remember a shirt from like 1990 that had Dawson, Grace, Ryno, and Dunston on it?

Have no idea how I found such a thing in Mississippi, but I got it at a mall way back then. Looked everywhere online but have never been able to find a picture of it.

I had the shirt too!

I read it as that's how Rizzo also reacts when he tortures the clubhouse attendants for his sadistic jollies.

Probably makes them dress the same, too.

it's Bob Nightengale, so it's really not even worth sharing, but I'm sharing anyway:

i like Hamels. but, we don't have the pieces to trade for him, we don't have room on the roster, and we don't have the financial flexibility to fit him in without compromising our chances with Harper and Machado. so, a typical Nightengale rumor.

Why in the world would we trade for a starter. What a dumb horsefeathering idea with no common sense thought. Do these guys not look at rosters and think logically about roster construction for a second?
