Sadly, for everyone, FIFA wasn't going to allow the USA's new golden boy to miss the biggest match at their home world cup. They should have solved that with just a yellow card. But here we are. 

But this time it does benefit me haha.

I don’t care what Belgium thinks.  They SHOULD think that they can beat the US with or without, and that it was a stupid call anyway.  Because that’s the objective truth and competitors don’t typically walk around hoping teams have injuries so they can score a cheap win.

You're certainly in the minority with this opinion. And regardless of what you think of Balogun's card, Ronaldo's was more clear cut, which is why he received a 3 game suspension vs only a 1 game for Balogun.

I don’t remember the Ronaldo incident, so would need to rewatch that. It just looked like you said Balogun getting a red card was questionable. My apologises if you weren’t saying that.

You're all good. I do think and did say the Balogun one was questionable regardless of the Ronaldo incident. But you're entitled to your opinion as well. So I was kind of doing two things at once with my post.

The Ronaldo suspended sentence was just flat out wrong. Don't want to miss World Cup games? Don't throw elbows.

I dont think the Balogun red card was so egregious that it should have set new precedence. Just my opinion.

Why is Belgium so upset? Its not like a 7 game series between them and the US, the foul didnt happen to them. 

I hate that Trump has weaseled himself in. He lowers my enjoyment of International sports so much
