The thing that blows my mind watching those is the guys who don't even get the ball on net.  If the keeper stops it, fine, but give yourself a chance to put in the back of the net and don't try to get too cute with it.  It's been a really long time since I took a PK, but it's wild that these guys who are exponentially more skilled than I ever dreamed of being make that mistake.

The games have been fun so far, and there are a lot of fun matchups yet to be played. Tomorrow might be the most entertaining day to a casual USA soccer fan. It almost reminds me of an NFL Wild Card Sunday. England at 11, potential next-round matchup in Belgium vs Senegal at 3, then USA at 7.

Yeah, that's going to be fun.  The US game overlaps with my bar chess meet up.  I'm pretty sure it's going to be the least amount of chess played in our 5 year history.
