No glove 1B/future DH. Can't really think of any good teams that would be in on him.

It's actually a pretty good winter to be a FA 1B.  Padres, Mariners, Giants, Dbacks. and Mets could all use a 1B.

But yeah he's got Angels or Nats written all over him.

HA!  That was my post.  Not sure how to edit that setting.

Well that can't be right. Your name is Brandon and that other guy's name is Craig.

Looks like Clase's playing career is over. How many millions of dollars has he made, and how much did he make by spiking a pitch or two? It's insane.

Did anyone see this article?

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/25261796-dodgers-reportedly-earned-entirety-shohei-ohtanis-700m-contract-1st-season

Basically, the Dodgers have already essentially recouped the entire $700M from Ohtani's deal.  So not only do they have the unicorn TV deal, but they are going to be rolling in the Ohtani cash year after year.

I am preparing myself for a lockout. Too many franchises are going to cry foul about the Dodgers advantages.

The main advantage, they have better owners and better people running the baseball team. The Yankees are by far the biggest revenue generators in baseball.

Propaganda will be coming out from owner friendly writers in greater and greater frequency leading up to next year at this time.

I agree.

A fight is inevitable, though.

There's going to be a lockout for sure, everyone's already desensitized to the idea so it won't serve as a deadline with any real teeth.

That said I am not too worried about losing games.  All the national TV deals are lined up to expire in '27, and the league wants to get the ball rolling on expansion as well.  Add in that the players generally seem happy with how the last CBA went and it's clear that this go around it's the owners who are coming to the table in a position of need.  The idea of them doubling down and going on the offensive for a salary cap is saber rattling IMO.  I don't see how there's anyone beyond maybe a few owners with one foot out the door like Reinsdorf or Arte Moreno who will actually be willing to do anything drastic.

Dodgers had more revenue in 2024 and will likely be #1 in 2025

This can't be right.  The Rockies are apparently going to hire a normal, well qualified GM?

"Unknown Finalist" is also a possibility per the article. They could still hire the guy in the mascot getup. Don't count them as sane yet.
