I was fully prepared for us to lose a series somewhere along the line here. But I was at least expecting some respectable team to be the one to get there if it wasn't us, not this random assortment of veteran hitters and a bunch of young pitchers all peaking at the right time.

 

Not saying it's over...I just felt like we still had something to prove against St. Louis, and was so happy that we went out and did that. Would have been the same against the Dodgers, or hell even Washington if you gave me the hypothetical in April. It sucks that out of all this, right now the Mets are somehow the heavy favorite to be the one to come out all of this.

Been interesting if they were able to get it to Arrieta last inning, and take him out for a pinch hitter. He probably would have been good to go in Game 5 with just 75 pitches today. Of course, that doesn't seem like the greatest idea right now either.
