Cards announce Garcia game 2, Wacha game 3, Lynn game 4.

So basically we need to take one of 2 in St. Louis, then Arrieta wins game 3, game 4 is Lynn getting crushed by Cub dongs

The general theme on Gateway Redbirds while discussing this series is "the Cubs are all bandwagon fans" or something. Idiots

One poster over there just claimed he's only ever met one bandwagon St. Louis fan, which means he is either a) a liar or b) a hermit.

When would a "bandwagon" Cardinals fan even show up? I don't want to go into the numbers and facts about how they've basically been good forever, but they've basically been good forever.

That's a great point as well. Hard to jump on a bandwagon of a team that's never bad to start with.

I'm not too stressed by the rivalry aspect just because the Cardinals historically own us.

1,196-1,146 all time in favor of the Cubs.

HISTORY!

I meant more from a they win things and we don't perspective.

I don't think it's an accident they put their most struggling of the 4 starters up against Jake

Legit question because I'm surprised. Has Wacha struggled more than Lynn?

7.88 ERA in Sept/Oct.

Just posted to Facebook, anything else to add?

In case you didn't know

1. The Cardinals are under federal investigation.

2. The Cardinals have dedicated their season to a drunk driver who caused his own death and the death of his girlfriend.

3. The Cardinals game 1 starter divorced his wife while she was battling breast cancer.

Also, their shortstop has been suspended for PEDs

Also, they suck.

So if the Cubs win game 1, how much does StL panic in game 2 knowing they have to face Arrieta in game 3?

The one thing thats slightly going to annoy and piss me off tomarrow is seeing David Ross in the lineup in a playoff game while Montero is on the bench when they're facing a RHP.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it yet, but next week's NLDS schedule could really suck with multiple 3:30 starts.

It could change depending on other series finishing early. But the early start time probably benefits the Cubs more than anyone.

CUBS are 30-16 (.652) when Ross starts at catcher

CUBS are 55-36 (.604) when Montero starts at catcher

Go CUBS !!

So if the Cubs manage to win the first two games, do they go with Hammel for game three? Or do you keep Jake on normal rest no matter what?

Because Ross mainly catches the two best pitchers

Nah, it's that sweet sweet CERA

You throw Jake to slam the door shut, I don't really see a benefit in pushing him back. He can't start more than 1 game in this series, and if he starts Game 3 then he can pitch Game 1 of the NLCS on normal rest. Starting him in Game 3 also preserves him as a Game 5 bullpen option.
